I am looking at installing either a comp cams or lunati cam into by 1972 buick skylark 350 with 8.5:1. I am wondering if 260 degree intake and exhaust with 108 center. is this to much for the motor. The cams also have .454 lift in both the intake and the exhaust.

i have been told that comp cams has a very good tech info department and will work with u in selecting an appropriate cam and valve springs , etc.

Check with the Crower cams website...I was browsing there for a possible cam replacement for my 85 GN when I came across their discontinued(Garage Sale) cams page...A lot of really good deals on there if you can find the right grind(I really can't tell if they are radical cams or not)...

    Here's the link...
    http://www.crower.com/sp/gs_cams.shtml

I'm using Netscape and my browser kept locking up when I tried to access that page...I had to use MS Internet Exploder to look at it...Gives specs for all kinds of cams there...

    Hope this helps...

I picked up one of their 50260 grinds at a local car show. Looks to compare to the TA 310 cam - should be pretty healthy! Can't wait to use it. I got a TA 350 intake from the same guy. Probably the best 'score' I've had at that car show!

Paid $50 for mine. I believe Crower has them for $60. Pretty good deal!:TU:

    Mike,
There is soooo much more to cam selection than a simple "will this work in my engine".....

The 260*- 108 lc- .454 lift cam will most definately work in your engine, and will [should] give it about 20 extra HP, but my personal feeling is that you should pick up the phone and call Mike T. at T/A performance.

Mike T. has volumes of expirence in making these engines work, and will be able to tell you exactly which cam will work best for your engine, car, driving style, and desires.

Once you spend a few minutes on the phone with him, you will understand.... He really knows his stuff, and will not steer you wrong.

BTW, that crower 50260 is waaaay to radicle for a basically stock 72, 8.5:1 buick 350

I would like to know as well....I ordered a 212....should have it any time now. I also bought a TA Stage1 350 intake and new TA springs and the new rocker assemblies. I am going to keep the Quadrajet....I imagine I will have to rejet it though. I am looking to stay stock looking.......and almost stock sounding. I am dying to hear the idle.
