I've been a member of this site for a few years now and want to extend my sincerest thanks and gratitude to all of it's members. The in-depth information and detailed instruction about these underrated, seemingly forgotten muscle cars is just wonderful. The super cool pictures are a bonus!
    Anyway, down to business.
My wife and I are in need of replacement vent, quarter window parts and exterior chrome trims for our '71 Skylark 2-dr post car. Unfortunately we can't find anything that seems correct. All of our window seals whistle down the road and the exterior trims were removed by the previous owner. I'm assuming most of these cars were 6 cylinder family sedans and ended up in the junkyard. It couldn't be as simple as finding parts from a 4 door with the post and the wing window. Could it???

Any help you guys have to offer would be awesome.

There is a 72 post car in my local junkyard but I cannot remember what is on it. I can check the next time I go.

Try Steele Rubber products. I forget if I had to piece it out, or if they had a kit for my '72.
They also sell the rivet so you can disassemble you vent windows and replace the weather stripping. I had a hell of a time tryin to smash the rivet, and was afraid id break the glass, so I used a small stainless allen bolt instead.

I tried to use a set of vent windows from a '71 4 door on my '72 as the rubber was nicer. But it turns out, the screw holes in the door frame holding the vent windows were drilled on a different spacing. Not sure if it varies from year to year, or car to car?

Since you mentioned trim,I also noticed the 2 tone / vinal top dividing trim is different lengths from the 2 door, to the 4 door.
