This is not a buick kill but was fun to watch. I pull up behind a brand new Z-06 Corvette who is first at the light last Saturday afternoon in my 3/4 ton work van. The road up ahead narrows from 4 to 2 lanes and we are in the correct lanes. Some early twenty something girl in a yellow Mustang GT (top down) convert decides she is going to beat everyone to the lane end except she has no idea what a Z-06 is. Wasn't even a contest. That vet bogied. How come I am never in the T-Type when I need it. I have not had a serious contender in almost two years, even at the track. Everyone I line up against is way faster or a way slower than me. A friend of mine who has a 66 Chevelle that was equal to my T-type turned it into a low 10-sec street car so I'm always chasing his taillights, he's no fun anymore. There are not very many fast cars being driven on the street anymore. Mikey
Not a Buick story, but I have a sbc V-8 4-door GMC S-10 Blazer that I burned a few ricers with. I had just built the truck (.040 flat tops, vortec heads, 10.4:1 compression, mild cam, 700R4, and a 3.42 posi rear). The exhaust was quiet, so no one really knew what was under the hood. I was cruising through a snotty, ritzy part of town where all the punks have tuners with the 5 inch exhaust tips. Two of them were in the lanes next to me, revving at eachother, and waiting for the light to change. I ratcheted down into first gear, and kept my eyes on the lights. I walked away from both of them like they were running on 4 flat tires. At the next light, they got on either side of me, and started revving up again. I let the light turn green and they took off, and I ease away from the intersection like I was driving Mrs. Daisy. It was like coupon day, cuz I got 2 for the price of 1!! -Josh
