Hello, I present, i'm 27 years old and i'm french. I live in the centrer of france in Bourges.

Scuse for my English but I want to improve in same time i learn many about my Buick from this forum. I have school level only and it' was long time i don't speak. If you can employ simple words it will more simple to understand you.

    So ! I'm Buick Century's owner.
It's a Buick Century Luxus 74 full stock. I love old cars and it's my first american car. Before, i've all restoring my VW 1200 bug '69.

    Concerning my Buick;
The engine is out, 4 connecting rods are low (in french; "bielles coules"). Oil pump ? I don't know !

    Welcome Cuby!

Good job with english, it must be very hard to learn a new language. Keepup the great work!

Before you order parts make sure you have a machine shop measure everything first. Please start a thread in the tech section so we can help you get the engine rebuilt right. I am guessing you have a 350 engine? If this is correct make a thread in this section:

    Ok Sean, and thank.
For english, it's no really a new langage because we learn a little english at school but it's not very easy, I do not hide ! (not sure for this expression...)

    Yes, it is a 350ci

I agree for the rebuilt but i have anyway bases in mechanical, i'm mechanician. Certainly, it's the first V8 but an engine is an engine except cylinders number ! Also, it's sure I will learn a lot of here !
I read carefully all engine rebuilts, it's very interesting.

    Thank a lot,
    Cuby.

YES ! In France, those who have an american car are very lucky and i am part of ! These cars are very esteemed in the world of old cars. The reason? There really is not much here. Almost all US vehicles are imports. Very little were distributed in France. The second reason, yours cars are beautiful, monstrous !

I 'll try to post photos...

    Welcome to the forum.

I've been to France a few times on business - I stayed in Pau, a lovely town in a very scenic area.

My impression: a BIG wide American car + VERY narrow and crowded French streets = exciting, scary ride! (But you eventually get used to it) At least you guys drive on the "correct" side of the road.

Yes Pau ! It's a rather nice city, but sure our streets are very more narrow as your streets. Your Streets are avenue for we and your avenues are the highway in France !

And yes ! As we, YOU drive on the right side. You want nothing more than a millimeter instead of the inches and you'll be perfect....
