I'm new here..........didn't know about this site 'til today and I'm a buick nut (go figure). I own a '72 GS stage1 (non #'s match.... d'oh!) and I've been working on it for YEARS (going on my 7th). Close to being done, but isn't it always? Hopefully I'll finally drive it this summer. Glad to be aboard.:bglasses:

Hi, and welcome to the V8Buick board!

It's OK to use your first name around here - we're all pretty friendly.

I run a factory Stage1 registry, trying to document the survivors. It would be great if you would consider registering your GS. The Stage1 registry can be viewed on the website listed in my signature. Please let me know if you have any questions/concerns.

    Again, welcome!

Welcome to the board! If you're looking to find a wealth of info, some parts or whatever, you couldn't have found a better place, TRUST ME!

I noticed you have a 72 Stage 1. I strongly suggest you register with Marco's registry, as he metioned above. Also, I've included a link, just out of curiosity....

    Again, welcome...:TU:

Oh............I've had that itch for a long long time. As much as I love my buick...........it has been a nightmare. I did something that unfortunately I'm sure some of you have had experience with -stumbling upon an a**hole body man.

I undersrtand that a divorce can ruin you and your business, but this guy returned my car to me, without me knowing that he didn't take the time to tighten up the fenders, door hinges, etc. I got the car back all beautifully painted and sharp. I jack the car up on stands to work underneath. After bringing it down, things must have shifted, 'cuz when I opened either door, I heard that NASTY crunching sound of fender and door rubbing together and fresh paint flaking off. *BLECH!* Think that's bad? Try removing fenders on a freshly painted car to reallign EVERYTHING without chipping ANYTHING. It's impossible. Now I got these huge chips in certain spots, and they make me want to puke everytime I look at them. Thousands of dollars for that paint job too. Thousands of hard earned dollars.

So now I'm working on this damned car for way too many years because not only am I pressed for time, but I'm redoing things that should have been done correctly the first time. :af: :af: :af:

His name is Bob Uden by the way.............and the business was called Bob Uden Designs, Inc. Anyone know this guy? Let me know!

So yes, I have a real bad itch to drive it......and it is getting done, and I hope to finally complete it this summer too.

And for the musician question.........I've been playing the guitar for about 12 years now..........own 4 (3 electric, 1 acoustic) and am getting a band together w/ some buddies..........no name yet.

    ~Mark

PS Should I still register my car even if the original motor is long gone? It's got the 'v' in the VIN, but that's about all the proof I have of it being a stage 1.

Get her out and drive her around and enjoy. If you wait until you have her perfect you may be to old to drive. Hang around this board cause there's four or five guys right in your area on this board.

I'm living in the city right now..........Division & Western, but I used to live in Niles with my parents. The car is in their garage still .....
but it's cool with my dad 'cuz he gets to drive it when it's done (part of the deal).

I don't know Paul Carestia.........but I met a guy when I worked in a music store, and he was a great pedal steel player........tall guy, big, grey hair..........is that him?

    Mark,
It has been years since I saw Paul, the discription you gave does nopt sound like paul except for the part for him being a great pedal steel player. Take care Mark.
