I'm looking at buying a holley carb from a buddy of mine but he dosent remember what size it is. He thinks its a 750cfm. What i know for sure is its a duel line double pump and the # on it are 4779-6 and 2608. I really have never used holleys much because i really like the quads but for the price and the fact its not that old of carb i might try it out.

If you are going to be putting it on a stock intake, the qj will run better.
There is a major mismatch trying to put a square bore carb on a spread bore only intake. Jim Burek P.A.E. ENTERPRISES

It would be going on a 455 with a b4b intake and a gs118 cam.

If the dual quad manifold has not been corrected, the b4b with 850 holley will probably run better.
When I first went to the dual quad set-up many many years ago, I used it to replace a b4b w 1000 tq set-up, the car seemed to run fine, felt good and strong, but at the track, the thing was almost a half second slower with the dual quads than the b4b tq set-up. I ran the B4B.... GS118... and a 850DP once. The holley felt a little rich when floored (black smoke out exhause... and a stumble). But you should be good with a 750. You will notice that it will have more Part throttle pickup as I think the primaries of the Holley are larger than the Qjet... But there is less ooomph when you transition to WOT than the Qjet cause the Secondaries are smaller. You will probably pick up more power with the Holley as you will be able to tune it easier and be able to feed it more gas if it needs it. But there is nothing like the "feel" of the Qjet Secs. opening:Brow:

All in All.... I'd go with the holley. I have had nothing but good things with them (except for those darn Power valves:af: ... Make sure you have the PV protectors) If you have a 750 Qjet.... then you will only gain with the 750DP holley as you can do more with the holley.:TU:
