KEN,The monkeys on back are great for wow factor, more importantly provide excellent traction do to sportys weight transfer to rear. The stock 3.23 broke,so i've used everything from 3.08 to3.90,speedo always off a click or two. I just use my tach to maintain my speed.
OH RIGHT- I put an alien sticker on my center roof glass. you really can see the stars at night through it.
My wagon originally belonged to my grandfather, who gave it away to a family friend... the owner of the local golf course. She ws a greens car for almost 10 years when I found out she was going to be crushed (they bought a new pickup truck). Bought her back for $1.
Anybody here remember the Green 70 Estate Wagon that was sold out of the Sacramento area on ebay several months ago? Anyone know who bought it or where it went? That was a car I would have bought in a New York minute if the cash had been available.
Ok, once again, I found my '70 Sport Wagon here on the board from a year old post. I'm not going to go into another long description again, because I'm afraid I'll have to repost it again. Ok here's some pics.
Gran Sport 72 Were did rou go? I saw you here the first time. You were talking about a project name. Well, glad your back. That sport wagon is the bee's knee's baby. :blast:
We lost a few days on the board when it crashed this weekend. Some of this thread disappeared as well. I posted the pics on Friday and the board crashed again that night and part of Saturday. I'm starting to get paranoid about posting much of anything until I know it's gonna stay here. :Comp:
My '68 SpecialDeluxe Wagon I found my wagon in Old Auto Trader magazine. The car is from Scottsdale,AZ, but I bought it from a guy in Las Vegas,Nevada. It was part of an estate sale. Only had 34,692 original miles on the drivetrain. Took five days to have it transported to the east coast. I drove it off the truck myself on March 9,2003. I have done extensive work on the brakes, replaced the water pump.oil pump, timing chain and interior work. I have installed an electric cooling fan and swapped out the ST-300 for a TH-350 transmission. My wagon now has a dual exhaust system. The final step will be to repaint the wagon with the original color........and she runs great!!!!!............John
It was a good friend of Jim Lore's(flyinbuick) in North Carolina. I couldn't get a good enough "Buick fix" while the board was down at that time so I flew down there on Feb. 6 to look at it. Ended up buying the car. I think the buckets are out of a Chevy pickup, maybe early '90's vintage. He built the console himself also. The previous owner did the interior work himself with the help of a friend. Not too shabby if you ask me. The 455 sounds really nasty too, 3 inch Flowmaster all the way from front to back. Three-chamber mufflers too. I wasn't even aware they made Sport Wagons until I started poking around this board. I just had to have something different. I'll post more pics soon. :Comp: :3gears:
That may take away from the car though. I'd hate to ruin a picture of a beautiful classic like that.
Just clarifying, why would you want to see my ugly mug? That's how I meant it blondie. :Brow: P.S. Are you trying to stir things up intentionally or does it come naturally, Dee???
We've seen a pic. of your rear on BPG Forum, so now it's time for a pic. of the front (waist up please). :Brow: Some times it's intentional and sometimes it just happens naturally!
Ha ha ha!!!! I knew it!!!! I'll have to see what I can come up with. Yes, it will be waist up too. My rear is as PG-13 as it gets, besides, we've got to keep it "family" oriented here. :Brow: :moonu:
