The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. How do I get my VHS put on the computer?

    Anybody ever done this or is there a way to put VHS movies on to the computer? I've got a little 4 minute movie I'd like to post on here if there was a way.
    Any thoughts?

    If you had a web cam, you could web came the TV to record it on computer.

    Yep, use a video capture card. You might find a box that plugs in your USB that will capture video. Not as good, but easier for some people.

    So, let me get this straight....

    If I buy this software, I can put (or record) something I have on video tape onto my computer?? Is it that easy??

    If that's the case, I have a bunch of old racing footage that's going on here very soon.... :Brow:

    Brett, you and I both are novices at computers. I too would like to put my VHS on computer. I think I went around with a VHS camera glued to me for 8 years. Now, I will not even pick one up.

    There's always the option of putting them on a disk and then downloading that way.

    A good friend of mine owns a streaming video company, www.onlineracing.tv and he's got all the equipment, plus the knowledge of how to transfer from VHS to DVD....

    I do know this is something I've wanted to do for a while. I have over a couple hours of video of my old red 72 Stage 1 (from the mid to late 90's) clicking off low 12 second runs, one after the other, that I would like to share with the group....

    Any video rental place can do that stuff but I just assume it something he taped off TV and so it would be illegal for them to do that.

    Plus I assume he is not comfortable with installing a new video or a caputre card and why I mentioned the web came. Most everyone has one and its the easiest way I can think of for a computer novis.

    But just go down to bestbuy or where ever and buy a video capture card if you can install it. If its something you taped off TV or copy protected.
    Don't take it to a place that will convert it. Big red flag wil go up.

    It's not as easy as just installing software - you have to install the capture card too. It's easy - open the computer, put the card in an empty slot, put it back together, plug the VCR into the card (yellow is video, red and white are audio).

    If you get a USB video capture setup, it won't be a card - it will be a little box that sits outside of your computer. Just plug the box you bought into the computer's USB port, then plug the VCR into it. Very easy.

    Install the software. Then run it. You'll basically use the software like a VCR - click the record button on the software, then hit the play button on the VCR. When the program is done, click the stop button on the software. Save As, and you're done.

    Now, to get it looking good, or make the file smaller, it may be a little more work (things like contrast, re-encoding, etc.). The software will have some basic settings to make this quite simple. If you post race videos, please do as mpeg, DivX, or XviD - as I won't download windows media files if you post them (we don't all use windoze).

    Make sure you have a big hard drive. Video files can be very large and will eat up your free space quickly :eek2:
