I was going to change the filter in my turbo 350, and was wondering how much fluid I need to buy?
I plan on using Red Line Dexron IV. Has anyone been using this? I also have a external tranny cooler to include in the fluid level.

    Thanks
    Mike

Should be about 4 Qts. - as long as you are not draining the converter. Best thing is to put in 3 and drive it around the block then re-check it and add accordingly, it's easy to overfill. :bglasses:

All you can do is drain the pan, as there is no drainplug on the converter. As mentioned, it will take about 4 qts. I am using Red Line D-4, it's an excellent fluid.

That's what I liked about my Furd.......I wonder why GM doesn't have drain plugs on their converters? I heard you can drill and tap them for one but it has to be in the correct spot or you'll ruin the converter. :bglasses:

    A turbo350 only holds 4 quarts, but a SP-400 holds 12?

Yours holds 4 also if you just remove the pan. You also filled your converter that's why it took 12 quarts. :bglasses:
