how to remove rear bench seat

    hey, im taking everything out of my interior to por15 the floor...but i cant seem to get the back bench seat out without a hassle...has anyone done this? please help...

    I find it's a lot less work if you just push the rod right at the latch with a big f'n screwdriver. When you push on the seat itself you're wasting a lot of energy that's pushing and flexing a lot of other stuff in the seat other than where you need it. I know on my 68 you can pretty much see where it clips in if you use a flashlight.

    but the real question now is...how tough is the reinstallation??

    install is much easier. pushing down and back is easier than pushing back and then pulling up while still pushing back:confused:

    If you sit on it real hard it might pop back into place. Funny they are so hard to remove, when I was a kid we used to jump around in the backseat and they poped out. I was not a fat kid, that has changed.
