Hey- Welcome to the board! What's your name? 68 68 would be a Burnished Saddle (brown as you said) car, both upper and lower body. It also looks like the trim code of 189 is a Burnished Saddle bucket interior. There is a pearl interior for your year, but not a silver as far as I can tell. The pearl is more off white than silver, so maybe the seats were recovered/dyed from the burnished saddle the plate says. I think this is right, if not someone will chime in I'm sure! Enjoy the forum and use the search functions extensively. Lots of knowledgeable people here (way more so than me). Take care,
thanks ken i just cant figure out thecolor being brown because under the white paint there is red paint and even if you take aknife and scrape back the paint there is absolutely no brown and the interior does not seem to be dyed i wonder if you could custom order silver seats if interior is originally brown would it have red dash headliner ect oh and my name is scott:grin:
Hey Scott, It isn't this car that you bought is it? here That is the last time I remember seeing a white car with red dash, etc.
chris i feel stupid iwas looking at the car that is listed by your name i just clicked on the link and yes that is the car
chris the car runs great and drives even better however it needs new front fenders and some interior work dash is perfect car is all there except stock steering wheel
Welcome to the board Scott, and congratulations on your recent purchase. Ken is correct in his decoding of your cowl tag. The Sloan Museum may have buildsheet information on this GS. You give them the VIN and $25 and you get all original options as recorded by Buick. Contact information is on my website. ...if you wanted to verify that Burnished Saddle color. Many things can happen to a car in 33 years Again, welcome!
Congrats on your purchase Scott! And welcome to the board. My wife and I thought about bidding on that car too. Just out of curiosity... how did you get a better deal than your winning bid? Sounds like an interesting story.
well rick the car is not 80% restored like the ad stated idrove around 600 miles to pick up car and i told him the car needed more work than i was led to believe i told him the car had alot of potential but would take more money to get it right i told him how far i came for the carand asked if he would work with me on price he said yesso i got it alot cheaper i also drove the car home and it was great
rick where is nw ohio is that norwalk? im originaly from wooster ohio my family still live there wooster creston medina wadsworth brookpark
Good deal on the car Scott. Thats a pretty good sign if you were able to drive it 600 miles home! It can't be too awful bad?? We were turned off by the red interior when we were looking at it. We really wanted black on black. But after getting our black on black 70GS, I wish we would have gotten the one you bought. Ours needs a ton of work too. The more I work on it, the more I'm finding was done half@ss. Anyways... I live about an hour-ish southwest of Norwalk. Wooster/Medina/Brook Park are all more over by Cleveland. Probably about 2 1/2 hours from here. I was just in Brook Park about 3 weeks ago for work. Small world. Good luck with your project. Keep those pictures coming as you progress!! :beer
