I’ve done some searches to try and figure out the timing cover on my 67 GS400. Everyone seems to state that the earlier BBB covers are all the same and have 0-4-8 degree timing marks on the tab along with the smaller ” oil pick up passage and that the 71 and later covers have 0-4-8-12 + on the timing tab and have the 5/8” oil pick up passage (70 Stage 1 had larger 5/8” passage also). I have found this to be not totally true and would like to post my findings for others to add to and learn from. I have found with my searches that some owners posted that their 430 engines have 0-5-10-15 degree tabs. This is what my 66 dated 400 cover has too. I am including the CASTING (not GM part) number of the factory Timing Covers that is located by the distributor hole (also nearby is the casting date in a small circle boss). Also I am including the tab timing marks according to what I have found in photos and statements. If anyone has something different or new, please post your info. I am also including the Proform and TA covers just so that all covers out there might be easily identified and I will update my original post as new info is verified. My apologies, I'm having problems spacing out the part number and timing tab columns. If any moderator knows how to fix it so I can space them out id appreciate it. Thank you,
Craig, click the edit tab and use .....to space out your columns. If you don't do that it pushes everything together. Been there, done that:grin:
