Maybe its the pic, but the Stage 1 emblem on the drivers side of the car, looks to be in the wrong spot. IT looks too far forward to me, But again it could be the picture.

Gary, that doesn't work for 70's, only for 65-67.

Regardless of whether it's a Stage car or not, she looks like a beauty in the pics! :TU:

As with any car purchase, if you're looking to buy it because you like it and want to enjoy it, you only have to decide how much it is worth to YOU. If you are looking for an investment or a flip (resale), then current market values would be more important. But since you keep saying you know all these ins and outs, I'd say your mind is about made up no matter what is said here.

And I agree, it sure looks nice in the pics!!

Yep. A case of buyer's hard-on. Been there done that.

I'm with Shawn, and others of a similar view.

If you are getting that beautiful car at a great price and you are NOT hung up on whether it is an original-spec rarity, then you are one happy camper and you will be getting thumbs-up all year long on any given blacktop.

I had the buyer's hard-on when I bought a 1980 FXWG Harley off eBay down here about 6 years ago....it was cheap. But it was a bit of a nail, in truth. And experts pulled it to bits one day as not having this or that original stuff.....but I didn't care. I have since invested a LOT and now even the experts agree it is a real nice bike and looks damn near original.....

I've just spent thousands on the 68 Wildcat I bought six months ago.....getting it ''properly sorted'' for years of hopefully trouble-free cruising. It too was cheap. with issues. I had another case of the buyer's hard-on but I knew what I was getting into. It will never be a show car and W.O.T. members on here could pick holes in it nine ways through Sunday, but now it's looking real nice, more than nice enough for me, and it's gonna owe me ZERO in comparison to the pleasure it's gonna give me. And is already doing so, in fact.

That fire-red beast looks kick-ass. Stage 1 or not.

If it's up by Rochester NY. I had a friend on the car but the guy couldn't give him any numbers to prove it was a stage car but the reg. started with 446370H. That proves it is a flint car. You might want to see the car in person. Just my input so you don't get screwed.

Got the Sloan report back before I purchased the car. Drumroll please.... it is a REAL STAGE 1! Fire red (75), no rust, beautiful interior and absolutely flies! It does have a welded deep sump oil pan, headers, b4b intake and the carb is a 1972 vintage quadrajet. The heads are from 73 but this thing is FAST. $14,000...

Some of you guys on here are very helpful. Some of you are total idiots... Comment's like "buyers hard-on" an the other snide comments... Grow up... Go back to your Walmart jobs and quit jumping on forums so you can act all "high & mighty" and feel good about yourselves for 3 minutes.

Awesome! At $14k you can't go wrong based on those pics even if it was a 350 car, much less a Stage 1! And red too.:TU:

Glad you checked it out thoroughly, what a buy...should have been in the 30-40k range so it sounds like a steal. Any chance you could post the Sloan?

Wow, that's definitely a very fair price if the car is as clean in person as it appears in the pics. Congrats on what seems to be a well bought car!

Welcome from another real 75-75 owner! Although mine is originally a 350 built now to a 462. Looking forward to seeing a few more pics if you have any!

Sorry I offended you man. You're right.

That said, please take a second to also put yourself in our shoes. When I say "our" all I mean is "those of us who you were coming to for advice".

You asked for opinions in this thread and it appeared not just to me obviously, but to others, that you were already past the point of no return with this purchase and were seemingly a little reluctant to heed any advice. It appeared to me anyway, that you were going to buy no matter what anyone said. That is what I meant by buyer hardon. It really wasn't meant as a slam. I have a good friend who did the same thing. We drove 4 hours south to "look" at a car and even though it had lots of issues and rust and what not, he bought it anyway even though I am sure he probably could have held out and found a nicer one. He also did it with another car. It turned out nice but wasn't cheap getting it to that point. That is all I meant by that comment.

When reading your posts the excitement in your words was palpable, so some on here were only trying to prevent you from getting ripped off. In the end, you didn't which was great. Congrats.

I will take your advice and not be so snide. But when some gave advice or input, it seemed you were buying it no matter what and I guess some got a little annoyed.

I would actually like to know a little more about you and your love for cars. I am really not a jerk most of the time. :pp

It's amazing what some elbow grease will do to bring a car back to life...
