This one could have gone the other way had there been more room for him to pass but the jerk pulled one of those stunts where the left lane ends and he has to merge right.Well I had a feeling from the time he pulled up next to me at the light and pulled up even with my front bumper.I watched the light like it was a Christmas tree at the track and as soon as I saw the light changed I got on it and dropped it down into first and away we went.Next thing I know he's trying to pull exactly what I expected.Unfortunately for him the Buick torque was too much and I got ahead of him by about 2 car lenghts and forced him to get in behind me. I'm not sure what model it was.It looked like one of the 350z's as far as the body style went. It's a good thing I'm back on high blood pressure meds because my heart felt like it was going to burst through my chest. What a trip into work !!!!:3gears: :Brow:
I thought a 350Z was a Nissan?? just as Acura is the Honda owned luxo-brand, Infiniti is Nissans entry into the high end market: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infiniti
My friend had a G35, didnt look exactly like a 350z, but it seems close, a little bigger. That things fast though, and traction controlled, but still couldnt take on a good ol' buick :Brow:
I'll have to find out for sure what it was.Usually I can tell by the back end but he was lookin at mine this time.:3gears:
Sounds like a G35---I've beaten so many of those with my Buick Regal SC 3800 V6 it aint funny---stock they are supposed to be 300hp my Regal is 240 hp(actually about 280 with my modifications) I think a lot of the foreign cars are really OVERATED hp wise and otherwise--GOOD KILL! Pete
Maybe Jeff---they always throw that line---"top end they own the road"---well maybe--problem is when the Beamer/Mercedes crowd:moonu: start going past 100mph ---they really put John Q public in DANGER and when the law catches them--they WILL be in a world of hurt.AS for their top end of 150------ who gives a rats ass?--again they are getting an invitation to jail.if they don't wreck first---a LOT of those HIGH performance cars have LOW performance drivers!!! Pete
I prefer quarter mile myself also and I definitely wouldn't push my car that hard if it wasn't on a track. The thing is a 36 year old car isn't as stable at high speeds as the newer ones unless you've dumped a ton of money into the suspension and I built mine for straight line and not the twisties:laugh: Although i do like a little stoplight to stoplight action now and then.
Good point about a 36 year old car---headed to LACR maybe Wed nite--and I gotta be truthful---hauling my beast down from 100 with NO DISC BRAKES has got me a little nervous!!!! Hope it's not my last run down the track:ball: Pete
Man I hear you on the drum brake thing. That's the most intense part of the run is trying to stop. That will be ONE upgrade I definitely have planned for the future.Talk about a tight butthole moment !!!
I hate when people do that, its annoying. I think if they are the ones who have to merge, they should slow down.
I feel like I'm dead. I have a Cutlass Covert 72 but needs a little more tlc before I can drive it and I haven't started the resto on the 71 GS. I miss the feeling of power. Lucky you and nice burn.
350z is the nissan it is basically the 2 seat version g35 is the infiniti it is the 4 seat other than the badges there the same car in the old z cars you had 2 and 4 seat models the 4 seat now is an infinit
