Think again. AO1 is Stage-1 and M40 is turbo 400. Congrats you have a real car. Not sure on the other codes will have to check an assembly manual when I can.
AO1 = tinted glass. A1 is stage 1 D55 = long auto center console I cannot read the codes very well. What is the second code ( a letter and two digits) following A01.
Gentlemen, That is a Flint only Fisher Body "cheat sheet" and the codes were used to build the body shell/interior only. It will not have engine codes, or anything used by Buick for final assembly. Duane
Mike & Brad hit it right on the head. Here is a piece of the article I wrote for the BPG newsletter about buildsheets. Seat Tag (Flint Production Plant only) (Taken from a 1970 Skylark parts car) "These sheets measure 3 ½” x 5” and can be found in 1967 thru 1972, and possibly other year cars as well. The information was hand written on the card, and was used by Fisher Body to make sure the correct interior buildup went with the correct car. The number at the top of the sheet corresponded with the number written in crayon on the driver side cowl section of the car. The body style, interior trim code, as well as some of the option codes (UPC codes) can be found here. These sheets are most often found attached to the springs on passenger front bucket seat bottoms, or at the same place on front bench seats." If you are a BPG member you automatically get access to the electronic versions of the newsletter and can download or print all the articles. Duane
flyinbuick the code next to a01 is B22 i have got most of them figured out execpt the B22 and the one that is below it i cant make out what is says it looks like that is starts with an A
B22 may be a door emblem. If it is B29, which it kinds of looks like, it may be auxillary front floor mats.
U80 = rear speaker B22 = trim pad GSX emblem 188 = black interior A02 = tinted glass D55= long floor console 151 = ?
I found these in my stage 1 ragtop but they are in my safe deposit box. I wrote down the codes though. Mine lists 3467 plus the D55 console and the SCO number 625 and the "168" code for black buckets plus M40, A01, U63, U80,D35 WB7 and W20. I believe this is radio and dash stuff for the most part. I have many of the same codes on the same style card out of my 69 stage 1 coupe too. style 4637 then D55, M40, U63, A01, 186 and U15. Both found in the front seat springs.
M40 = Th 400 trans A01 = Tinted galss U63 = Sonomatic radio U80 = rear speaker D35 = sport mirrors WB7 = ralley clock W20 = convenience group
When I did not see it on some non GSXs I changed horses thinking it must be GSX specific and thus the dash pad with a GSX emblem
Gentlemen, Code B22 is for a GS door panel emblem, it has nothing to do with dash emblems. That code told the Fisher Body employees whether the front door panels came with Skylark or GS door panel emblems. Also, if you go back to my earlier post it explains what the number at the top of the sheet means. Duane PS. If B22 stood for the GSX Dash emblems, then there are a bunch of 70 GSX's with 350 motors.
The basis for my own thinking, against conventional wisdom, that the dash emblem may be attached to the B22 code is the absence of another code for that indicator to the interior crew. Here is the one posted above for a GSx: U80 = rear speaker B22 = trim pad GSX emblem 188 = black interior A02 = tinted glass D55= long floor console 151 = ? By my thinking you can eliminate U80, 188, A02, D55 and, from Duane says, maybe 151 as the indicator for the GSX dash pad emblem. So perhaps there is a broader meaning to B22 than we first thought. Maybe it signaled special interior emblems and was broad enough to include the doors and the dash. And there may be another way the GSX dash emblem was indicated and therefore was omitted from this interior sheet. If there was I do not know it and have not picked up that anyone has identified it.
