Is cortez silver and silver mist the same color?

I really want to paint my car cortez silver, but i'm not sure if silver mist is the same color. I've seen plenty of Chevelles painted silver with black stripes, but i've never seen a Buick GS painted silver mist with a black rally stripe in person. Does anybody know the PPG paint code for both?

PPG code is the same for both colors. I looked it up in the Sherman Williams book in the store a few years ago and they also were the same code.

 

I have an Silver Mist original paint 72 Stage 1 and it is definitely different than Cortez Silver. More of a greenish hue.

Thanks Raresun! I think im gonna paint my 72 GS this cortez silver color with the black rallye stripes. Do you happen to have the PPG number?

 

You can look it up at www.autocolorlibrary.com . And to clarify both PPG and Sherman Williams have the same codes for 1970 Cortez Silver and Silver Mist. 1972 codes are different than 1970s.

 

Thats perfect. I just wanted to keep it as close to original color as I could and now it'll be perfect. Sorry I'm really happy!
