I had a little fun yesterday. Took the 53 out for a little cruise and I was waiting to make a left turn onto a 2 lane highway. This yellow late model Dodge Hemi pickup pulls up behind me. He's back there making his pipes talk and he is also making a left turn. I waited until it was good and clear when I pulled out and he was right behind me. Just as I suspected he hammered it to go around me. I nailed the 53 and spoiled his plans he kept dropping back.
My next turn was coming up so I had to let off, he slowed down but didn't pass I think he was afraid to. When I turned he went straight so I didn't get to ask the " Is that thing a hemi" question:laugh: It was one of the fancy yellow ones with the spoiler and the Super Bee stripe around the back, complete with the little Hemi emblem on the front fender. He's probably at the dealership this morning trying to figure out why he couldn't pass a 1953 Buick:rant: Life is good:TU:

At least you set one of them straight, they all think they got something just b/c of a hemi badge. If they had a real Hemi, I doubt they could handle all that power in a pickup! LOL :spank:

Well done Bob:beers2: (are we drinking imported beer now?).I'll bet that anybody that cought a glimpse of what happened wanted to ask the dude the same question.I always figure that if I was to build a 50's ride other than a truck it was going to be a '55 Chevy, that was until I saw your '53 here a while back.I really like the way you set it up,covered all bases.

Thanks Hector I really appreciate that. Yesterday was a blast but I had to drink domestic beer later in the day thats all I had in the house.
If I were to go non Buick I would probably have to go with a 55 or 56 Chevy also.:TU:

If you want most of these hemi owners eyes to glaze over just ask them to describe the difference between a hemi and a wedge.:Do No:

I bet his thought was- must have a big block CHEVY!

I second that. 53 Buick is one of my favorite car's next to a 58 Packard Hawk Truck would be a 46 Hudson followed by a Diamond T REO:TU:
