This came in a parts lot with all BBB 4 speed stuff. Does this appear to be an "original " 455 fork"? I know, its painted and not "correct" but just need one that works with all the other 455 4 speeds parts I have. I know Todd sells a repro and that appears to be wider than mine. Thanks
Ya beat me by seconds! Lol Thats a tough part to find! Just as an FYI, you could use a small block style too. You just have to use a small block adjuster rod.
Unicorn & BBB only (SBB used a diff. seal). There was some talk a few years back of reproducing it and a couple folks on here have a NOS one. Probably should resurrect that idea as I'm going to wind up looking for a place to make the correct non-consolette shifter boot.
Maybe it'll help to go to someone w/multiple projects & maybe once (assuming it happens) we're in more of a recession. Nobody will be clamoring for these projects in a good economy.
I also have both correct ribbed/thick walled overflow hoses here that no one makes and everyone will realize is missing from their cars once they see they're finally available. They fit 3 years of Skylarks/Gran Sports as well. Maybe start a thread to garner interest for the rubber parts that aren't currently reproduced to see if there's something we're forgetting?
Am I wrong in remembering that the delivered service replacement was always (at least by the 80's) the SBB fork and pin? It's been a loong time since I dealt with these, so am quite likely mistaken.
The 68 69 center rubber hood bumper that mounts to the center grill support is another item that I don’t think is produced.
