    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

... so I ate him for dinner :Do No: :Brow:

Im crusing the right lane on the highway (LIE) getting read to exit and a newish (06-07 ?) Vette comes weaving over from the fast lane, cutting off several people and ends up well ahead of me on the exit ramp ... I just thought D!@K !!! and let it go. Well, I come around the ramp and find him at the lite in the right turning lane ahead of me. Im not looking for trouble but ... :Do No:

So, as the lite is about to change his brake lights go off (Hmmm ... a stick !!) and he throws a couple of healthy sounding rev's my way which sound far better than stock.

On the green he jumps the light and turns right ... into the right hand lane kindly leaving the left lane for me !! He was even courteous enough to hold first gear and wait for me to ALMOST catch up before he nailed it :puzzled:

Somehow, my right hand had slid down to the shifter and had snicked it into first before we left the light :Do No: Then, when he took off my right ankle suddenly spasmed on its own sending the Go Pedal to the floor :Do No: :Do No:

He got a good 2-3 car jump on me but lost most of it during his shift to 2nd ... I clawed up even to him during my 5-6K charge and barked the hides like a dog on my 1-2 shift and then I just walked away during my 2nd gear pull gaining a 2 car lead by his 2-3 shift.

Knowing when enough's enough (70+ in a 35) plus my turn coming up I got out of it but he must have had some rice for dinner because he stayed in it and flew by ... up and over the crest ahead prolly doing well over tripple digits

... all over and done with in prolly less than 6 seconds .....I wasn't even hungry but sometimes those late night snacks taste the best  :3gears:

Disclaimer... No, I didn't find this on a vette forum... but it wouldn't suprise me.

You wonder what goes through their minds as they look over and see a 2 ton Buick charging past them.

I smoked a 90s Vette several years ago with my rotted to death 73 GS. I love it when they dont pull up right next to you at the next light. They kinda hang back. I put it in reverse and line him up again!

    Good one Alan! :beer

That's great ! Even better is when they show a little respect and acknowledge what happen. After leaving an establishment around 1 / 1:30 in the morning , my wife and I got next to a guy on a Jap bike at a red light . No reving or nothin ' . The light turned green , I got on it , he got on it and at the next light , he lifted the visor on his helmet and said , "Not bad for a Buick ." This was our bone-stock 97 supercharged Regal GS . No hard feelings , a little fun , ALOT of respect . Vette owners are a different breed , though . :beers2:

    Good kill.

I love the taste of Vette.

    Reminds me of this run.
Back in 91 had a ZR-1 pull up behind me in (the then just finished basically stock 12.80's) Stage 1 at a light in Ft. Lauderdale on US-1. It was a mild winter day and I had the windows open so I hear this screeching like the sound of someone killing a cat and look in the mirror and it's a ZR-1 and the guy is revving the snot out of it.

I pull away hard enough but leave it in 1st to give him room to clear the car in the left lane which he takes and gasses on it and pulls even as I floor it.
We run door to door until my 3" exhaust blows a muffler off and I let off.
The look on his face was priceless as he tore at the shifter and could not pull the Big Burnished Bronze Buford.

The same thing that goes throught he mind of those guys (and girls) on those crotch rockets when they can't pull the Turbo and it fills their mirrors all the way up the thruway ramp well into the triple digits till it starts to leave the ground, I lose steering and have to lift.
