Last week, I went on a trip to Pa. to pick up a '70 Olds Cutlass that I bought last May and stored at my uncle's place in Nottingham. I put about an extra 500 miles on my truck traveling around to several yards in the Pa,Md,and De. area. Found a lot of out of the way yards with lots of oldies in them. Found this one yard that has a very clean, complete '63 Wildcat 4dr with only 53K miles on it. The whole car is available, but don't know the price yet.
Here are some more pics. Even found a '79 Z28 4 speed car that was complete. A rarity in any yard for a complete 4 speed setup still in the vehicle.
Some other cars and even Jim Rockford's Firebird! One pic shows E Z Pull and Save through the trees. This is a HUGE yard that has some oldies all the way in the back. The car on my trailer is the '70 Cutlass Supreme with 66K miles on it.
Are those Historic vehicle plates? My guess would be the same person owned them and bought plates for them both at the same time. That Wildcat does not belong in a yard!
I'm going to get a price on the Wildcat. The kid has to find out the price from his grandad. The 2 '63 Buicks came from the same place. There was also a loaded '65 Skylark 4 dr that had about 50K miles on it,too. It is for parts ,which I am going to remove some next week. I intend to get more pics.
I found these other cars, too. The brown '72 Pontiac is bought and paid for.The '67 Riv I'm going after next week.
Ted, I'm looking for some super-nice interior chrome for my 65 vert....please keep me (or rather my GS!) in mind when you get back to that car! I'm also looking for 66 Skylark stuff....do any of the yards have any? I'm near Yardleys (met you there this year!) Thanks!:TU:
Walt,PM me your number and you can ride with me to a couple of the yards. The '65 had excellent dash chrome with a/c. I need the tilt steering column,p.window switches from it and the dash pad. It has perfect sheetmetal, too. There is a '66 Skylark convertible there, also, that is complete.
Found this one yard that has a very clean, complete '63 Wildcat 4dr with only 53K miles on it. The whole car is available, but don't know the price yet. got a guy down here with rear end troubles in a 63 Le Sabre. haven't had a chance to look at it yet, probably won't til after the new year, but there's a chance he might need a rear. we're hoping we'll be able to just shim it up.
Would you mind giving us some addresses so that we can have a Northeast GS/GN Club junkyard run this spring?
One yard I have the adress for is really huge, probably at leat 30 acres. Lots of oldies and newer stuff, too. Quite a few Buicks, including a '65 Wildcat convertible parts car and a complete '70 Electra convertible. It is called Elwood's Auto Exchange/ Grimm's Salvage ,21411 Jefferson Blvd, Smithsburg,Md. 21783 . Their # should be 410-739-7159. They will let you roam the yard and pull your own parts. Prices aren't bad at all.
Here is a pic of the $400. '70 Cutlass that I bought on the previous junkyard run and hauled back on this trip. One owner with 66K miles-yeah doesn't really look like it,but it has been sitting for several years. It does have a/c,disc brakes,posi,455 and original paint(bad)
I'm not sure if this would be the correct location to post this, but I spotted a decent looking white/white mid 70's big car, [Electra, LeSabreo No: ] 2 door hardtop just outside the little town of Noxen, PA a few weeks ago. It was sitting next to this old house along with about 8-12 other cars of various vintage. Might've also been a Riv there too. I could not stop for a closer look, as the road, (PA Hwy 29) is not very wide there, and I was driving my big truck. Noxen is located just southwest of the Hwy 309 junction. Closest larger city would be Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. I do not know if any of these cars are for sale, but you how things are these days...............
Here's the best junk yard in the USA. Just my opinion! http://www.gmsportssalvage.com/ I'll be visiting it over the holidays. That Cal. yard is quite awesome! Old Car City,USA in White Ga. has LOTS of oldies for sale. I stopped in there a few weeks ago and got these pics.
