    For all interested...........

The Plains challenge for 2004 is underway. We aren't up to speed totally yet but rest assured we are moving. For those of yall here in the midwest that may be considering attending, or are indeed planning a return trip, here we go........

I will try and keep all the incoming info out, so you can keep up, just as soon as I get it. I hide nothing with this event cause' as far as I am concerned it's for yall. I just do all the walking, lol .

I just dropped the phone with one of the tracks owners and have talked to the manager we all know(John). For all of you that make a "race schedule" for the upcoming year in advance like I do........we have used July the last two years and that is the deal again. Tentative date is 3rd weekend. Times and daily schedules will be posted after the first of the year once they are finalized of course. As of now I am planning on an event pretty much the same as last year. Friday BBQ like last year(this was just a BLAST) and a Saturday program similiar to last year too. I will change a few things as we actually left a couple hours of potential race time un-used last year, if yall can believe that, lol. Also I "may" have to raise the gate a few bucks next year too. Sorry, I KNOW this isn't what yall want to hear, but the track is RIGHT NOW trying to seal a deal to have it totally resurfaced. With some luck, traction problems had by you really fast guys, John Schmidt :) , will be taken care of. But as we all now, a big improvement like this also brings raised prices at the door. But fear not friends, I have already planted the "whine" about the raised gate, we'll see if I can get it to take, :Brow: . But really, say it goes to $50 for an example, where can you go and get over 20-25 runs for that ? We'll see what happens ?

Also ......... If any of you that have attended would like to forward an opinion or idea on how to improve the event, FEEL FREE !! My email address is buickdav@yahoo.com , and the event email is greatplainsbuick@yahoo.com . Feel free to email either, at any time, and you will get a response, I promise.

And...................Have you thanked our sponsors lately ???? SERIOUSLY we can't pull this off without the help of our 2003 event sponsors. If you don't know who they are I will very happily list them again below. If yall think about it seriously, you know that I couldn't do this without the help I get from them. You know it, and I know it, now all we have to do is let them know we appreciate it.......A BUNCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    2003 Event Sponsors:

    TA Performance,
    Left hand trailers,
    P.A.E.,
    Tri shield Performance,
    Evans racing engines,
    Gessler porting,
    Heartland transmission,
    and OF course the B.P.G.

Flat out yall, without these folks above this would be really tough to do. It would still happen cause' I believe our little event can work. BUT........Without these great people believing and helping financially, this doesn't go over like it does. I am challenging ALL of you to thank them for helping out. Somehow.

So there ya go. Not alot of info, but something to give you a little excitement to get you through the winter. Add July to your schedules yall..........I have locked up the track, we're gonna be back, Chuck "the champ" Conilogue will have the belt there, and I have already started the process on my end(you think I can just throw one of these together? time to get on it,lol).

Have a safe winter, a great Christmas, and a happy and safe new year. And as always.......the door is always opened, you have my email address', and if you prefer call me. As the event director, I am at your service..............

    Re: The Belt

    John,

As usual you never fail to amaze me......:moonu:

1- raising the gate is "kinda" outa my hands man and I know, you know, that. Like I said I am all over it though. Don't give up.

2- In case you have forgotten, It was the "champ" and I that were rebuilding your carb. at the trailer while you were over in the staging lanes with the car kissing babies and signing autographs :spank: . And it was the "champ" and I that were running with the damn thing across the pits to try and get it on BEFORE you ran, and I "could" bring up that neglect word that you used in a phone coversation a while back but I won't,lol................well, nuff' said on that. Sounds to me like Chuck is handing it to ya in the whole sibling rivalry thing there buddy. You gonna let him get away with that ??????????(HA HA)

3- Keepin' the fun alive ??? I know and I had no doubt. The trick is letting everyone else know about it for next year.

4- I will let everyone know about the track as soon as I get the info. The big ends scary to you ????? whats that all about ? I haven't had any problems, but I only run in the 11's there, lol.

5- Saturday night hell................I'll be there for lunch, which reminds me, you buying the wings at Hooters, LMAO:pp
