somebody on here might be interested in this...

They have a late 60s Riviera for sale which they've had for awhile...I think its a 68 or 69 (I'm not a Riviera expert) the car is black with a white top, looks pretty decent when you drive by it, I haven't had the chance to stop and look at it so I don't know anything else about it (price, options, etc.) but figured I'd throw it up here if somebodys interested

    Somebody buy this thing!!

I got a better look at it tonight (although in the dark), I think its a 69.

Front bench, white interior...front seat has a rip in the upholstery about 10" long but the rest of the upholstery looks pretty good. The passenger side armrest looks like it has a chunk ripped out of it, back bumper needs rechroming, and a couple nasty scratches on the drivers side quarter. The white vinyl top actually looks to be in very good to mint condition. No visible rust that I saw. There was a for sale sign on the dashboard, but no price or further details about it.

    For a quick reference:

1968 model has separate back-up lights in the bumper, under the rear lights.
The 1969 model has the back-up lights in the lenses of the rear lights.

Yeah I was looking at pictures when I got home to try to figure out what it is...don't remember exactly how the backup lights were...although if it makes a difference the car does have the "RIVIERA" emblem on the trunk like this 69...not sure if thats a 69 only thing or is on 68 and 9s

No, that emblem is found on the boot lid of both model years, but only the 1969 model has the Riviera R on the petrol tank filler door.

Are 68s and 69s identical from the front? Because thats all you can see when you drive by it on the street

Well then I'll know what to look for if I stop and check it out again. The car looks pretty good as it sits. It should make a nice driver for somebody. :beers2:

The grilles are different, and also the chrome trim that runs in the lenght of the car over the bonnet is taller on a 1968.
But you need to see the two model years next to each other to notice the difference in this trim.

1969 grilles have 3 chrome stripes.

Don't believe the side markers had a tri shield on them...I'm leaning more and more towards 69

I could type a comment to this, but since it's 4.53 AM in the morning here, and this is a family orientated message board....[IMG]
