I'm using a late 70s Camaro anti-sway bar on my Skylark. It's 1 1/4 inch diameter and is a lot heavier than the stock 15/16 one. I had to use the brackets off the Camaro as well, but the end links are the same. There are millions of them out there, and they make an A-body corner just a little better!

If you find another one, I'll buy it from you! I want to convert, but the junkyards around here don't have any ond stuff at all.

    Thanks

I'll have a look at the wreckers for you, but shipping from this corner of the continent to yours will likely be expensive as they are large/heavy...

It might not be as bad as we are thinking. If we ship just the bar itself. They're kinda heavy, but not all that bad.

    Please keep me posted. Thanks!

Ok, after doing a bit more research, it seems that it is actually 1970-81 camaros and firebirds. However, I did some poking around at the local wreckers here on the island and those cars also came with a smallish 15/16 bar as well. Maybe the heavy duty 1 1/4 bars aren't so easy to come by. Someone gave me the tip, and I went to a wreckers near Edmonton and the first car I walked up to had the big one. Hence my comment that there are millions of them out there. Anyway, I will keep my eyes peeled for one, as it really is a good upgrade that doesn't cost much cash...

Would those fit an A Body??

Not too sure about that, but if so, want to sell one?

    philosphrstone,

If you are in Edmonton, the last time I was at Karbasher off Cloverbar Road, there was 2 Firechickens there with the heavy bars. I could not remove them as they were metric (10mm) bolts holding the frame brackets and I had no metric tools on me. The other had hex socket (allen bolts) holding the brackets on.

Take a jack with you if you go as the cars are not up on blocks, but laying in the weeds/mud.

I think the price was $10 or so. I just picked one up at a Pick and Pull in Kelowna for $5 at the half price sale! It's all painted up and ready to go on with new bushings.

    Later,
    Brian

    Howdy!

Andrew(long time no see old buddy), That big parts yard west of I-95 on int spdwy blvd should have tons of the F body bars. I had one on my gold car at one time but you have to be real careful about the tierod adjuters when running one. If they are turned the wrong way, the bolts will interfere with the sway bar causing a not so good streering lockup going over small bumps or driveway curbing. I took mine off. dont you already have big bars on your car?
