I can't seem to find pics of Tim's pan, but it's very similar to this one I built for Brett at RideTech for his GSX. Like I told Tim.... if I had more time I would / should document each and every pan I build along with pictures.... but I don't always do that! Shame on me. :spank:
Thanks, I build all sorts of things, but as far as engine parts I stick to Buick's and mainly the 455's. I do this on a part time basis and I just don't have time for any other brands. That and Buick's are a passion for me. Maybe when I retire I'll have more time...........who knows? Steve
Mark, I did the V-6 stuff for a while, like oil pans, valve covers and oil systems, but the market just fell off for those as they settled in on a few choice suppliers. I've built a number of 350 deep oil pans but never had a ton of demand. I would do more for the 350 if the demand was there. I just don't want to spread myself or my products too thin and try to be everything to everybody. By focusing on the V8 stuff and supporting products, I'm able to maintain a fair lead time and good quality. Don't get me wrong though.... for enough $$$ I'll build almost anything! Steve BTW Tim, If I haven't mentioned it before.... I really like your car! Sweet ride!
Phil are those Z28 rims? If so what year and did you use any spacers or were there any fitment issues?

I am running stock height Moog springs all around right now. Hard to tell from the pic but there is actually a small forward rake on the car - abt 1.5 inch drop rear to front. I really like the height.....but the spc springs I have coming will drop the entire car another inch or so. I just could not find any performance springs in stock height so I went with spc. If the spc springs drop it too low my backup plan is to go with the slightly taller global west springs.
real82it, I also have to whole kit from SC&C. Get the ride height adjustment kit for the front springs (assuming it will fit your lower arms). I had to tune my ride height with this, as my car had too much rake. Pro touring cars have very little rake. I also have the UMI lca relocation brackets, and they moved my rear end rearward enough that my 305 wide drag radials rubbed. I had to redrill them to bring the rear back close the original location. I called UMI on this and they were stumped, saying they never heard of this. I suspect that people with smaller tires never notice. You will love they way your car handles with the SC&C kit. I autocross mine a few times a year, and it runs right with corvettes. In fact, it outruns late model Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers. You might want to upgrade your steering box if it is stock. Mine was a new, but old school quick ratio box, but had no feel. SC&C set me up with a Lee Engineering late model style box.
real82it, I think I saw your car last year at the Nashville Goodguys show. Very nice. You even ended up with a picture in the Car Craft article about the autocross at the show, I believe. Mike
Great to hear. Looking forward to the upgrade and thanks for the info. Beautiful car btw.......looks like popular hot rodding photos to me.... Wasn't me.....but good company to be associated with. Thx.
Jeff, Since you are actually running Autocross events do you have any problems with oil pressure dropping off? Have you done anything to your oil pan to prevent oil from pulling away from the pickup? I'm thinking about running my '76 in a local event and I was just wondering if you had any problems? By the way congrats on the pic in the latest issue of PHR.
I have the ta deep sump pan and its not the best for this kind of racing I see oil pressure drop going around turns.
Mike, I am fine on turns less than 180 degrees. On a 180 the oil pressure drops to about 25 psi. I run in second gear to reduce wheel spin, and to keep the rpm down. The next car will have a SRE oil pan made for road racing. I have a bit of metal in my System One oil filter at the last two oil changes, so it is suffering somewhat. Fuel slosh is another problem. I cannot run with less than 1/2 tank of gas.
Jeff, what brand/size wheel are you running? They look right on the car. Any rubbing issues? Are those c5 brakes peeking out behind them up front?
