WOW, that looks like my car and it only weighs in at 2960! Killer Jeff! So, for now I have steel bumpers and decklid. Only my front and back windows are Lexan. What else did you do beyond mine to reduce weight? Thanks guys
My doors don't seem to have I-beam type bars in them or other crash bar. I have a large aluminum window guide bracket.
I can give you a couple cars . My old blue car was 3750 LBS with me in it I weigh 270. I ran a best of a 9.82 @136. The Black car went on a little diet compared to blue it weighed in last year at 3565 with me in it still at 270. That car is all steel except the hood went 9.60's at that weight.
weight savings i got fed up with the old heavy parts breaking gs and went for a tube chassis car. scott
Heavy Dude 68-GS,,Race only car,,3550LB-FULLY LOADED with me @ 220lb. Glass hood-bumpers-Tiny radiator, no inner fenders, no dash, full mild steel cage, all the glass, and window mechanisims, atleast 1 gallon of dura-glass, 9.5" tires. 462ci-th400 with trans brake car runs 10.80s in hot weather-low 1:40.s sixty foot. Could buy glass fenders, doors and deck lid, put lexan in car, and drop a BUNCH of weight....but its all bracket racing for me. Sure is a tempting thought thought..... uzzled:
jeff yes it is bill andersons old car, i wish i could tell you how fast it is but i need to set the motor and tranny in it. iam planning on a big block and a glide as soon as i find a healthy 455. i cant hardly wait.
you guys need to help me out here, iam selling the GN in the picture beside the race car so i can get this thing going. need money for the race car.
Aluminum bumper brackets, Lexan quarter windows with no roll up mech. "screw them to the quarter keeping the stainless weatherstrip", aluminum tin, no heater, Sportsman tires weight a ton. The rear of my car is nothing but the outer skin, and I me nothing but. Down the road I plan on removing the floor, firewall, and frame rails and replacing it with aluminum and moly tubing and lightening the front stock frame like I did to my 70 car. Should put the car around 2750lbs.
Sorry, but it has an iron headed nitroused small block in it right now. I know, I know    The car is way under geared and still untuned and runs 10.1's for about 8 grand . Will go well in the 9's geared and tuned. Until my stage 3 engine is done it will do the job. My Bulldog 464 will go in the 68, my stg3 will go in the 70 and my 69 will get the iron headed 462 ,4 speed back in it again and return to the street. Someday...... :boring:
NICE RIDE! Keep me updated with the progress please, I miss the ol girl already! It wont take much of an engine in that thing to FLY!

Killer car Ken, I love the tunnel ram. What size dominators? Regulator, fuel lines. Did you have any issues with port entry angles on your port floor. My mopar tunnel ram on SE heads runs into the steep port floor. I don't think raised port heads have this problem. 715 torque is very high. I this a big motor? If its a typical 464cui thats 1.71 TQ/CUI an unheard of level for no power adders. I'm going to guess 496 or bigger. 496cui would be right in the very good 1.42-3 area typical of tunnel rammed wedge motors. At your power level and weight 8s should be right around the corner.
