long arm rest bases

Discussion in 'Repro Parts' started by Jamie Carnes, Feb 3, 2002.

If we are making a wish list, I would like to see the long armrest bases and backing plates for the '70 cars reproduced. All I can seem to find are the short versions.

This isn't already done by someone, is it?

    Long Armrest Bases

    Jamie,
I made reproduction long armrest bases at least 6 years ago. I took examples of these to the GSCA Nationals and no one seemed interested in them. At the time there were enough originals out there that could be dyed. (There are probably still enough originals out there.) After selling only a few sets I decided it wasn't worth it and scrapped the molds. The chromed plastic base plate is a needed part and could be made and sold for a reasonable price. If there was enough demand and I could get deposits with the orders I could reproduce them. Duane (Classic Car Interiors)

Thanks for the reply, Duane. I ran across a couple of decent bases that I repainted. At the time you had these, I had just gotten my car, so I wasn't looking for new ones yet.

It could be a need now; I felt lucky to find mine. I had my plastic "chrome" backing plates "replated" by American.

Jamie,Poston sells the long armrests.I just saw them in his latest catalog. Duane,I'd be interested in having you make the long armrest bases. To make it worth your while, put 3 pairs on your list for me.If you make them,it would help a lot.Thank you! :TU:

I talked with Tony at Postons. He does have the long armrests, but not the bases or bezels.
