WOW.....Is it that 2 owner stage1 auto with 71,000 miles? That's the only California X I knew of on ebay recently. :TU: Way to go guy !! Please keep us updated as your adventure rolls on......
Congratulations on your purchase. Please consider registering it in both the GSX Registry and the Factory Stage1 Registry. It's important to know how many survive. Thanks!
Well guys the hunt is still on. California car isn't what I was expecting for the price. It was very rough, picture on ebay must have been taken 10 years ago.
With all of the emphasis on the GSX Stage 1, would a 71 or 72 GSX with the 350 be just a driver no matter how good the restoration? If there are less GSX 350 cars why wouldn't they be worth more than a non-numbers matching Stage 1 car? I personally like the SBB and think it is overshadowed by it big brother.
DARN IT !!! I hate it when that happens. :af: :af: Keep the faith......there are great cars to be had out there. .
Troy Describe your cars original color combo and factory option load from the factory Is it a true 70 GS 455 4 speed car? Thanks Rich
Rich, Troy's car is a Saturn Yellow 70 GSX 4 speed, with only 30k original miles - all numbers matching, with a recent frame off resto. It won Concours Gold in Columbus earlier this year. That's it the pic above on the show field next to Duane's car. It's perfect, and anyone looking for a GSX that's already done should take a closer look.:TU:
James, thank you for adding some information about my car... Rich, Technically, no it is not a true GS, as it is a true QQ GSX I am waiting on the GS Historical Society paperwork to verify the factory options. But at the car sits, it has the correct GSX standard options and a Speed alert speedometer, (how many 4-speed speed alert speedo could there be?) it has an AM/FM radio (works!) tilt wheel, 4-speed with consolette As James stated, the car is perfect. It was just completed @ Then and Now Automotive and delivered straight from the shop in Marietta GA to the BPG Horsepower Nationals in Columbus OH August of 2007. Right off of the trailer the car earned a Concours Gold award. Points were deducted for a scratched passenger side mirror, missing tach wire clip (as Jim L. says, like finding a set of chicken lips), spark plug wires were not date coded and the fender bolts that can be seen when you open the doors are painted black versus the black oxide or the correct coating. I would be proud to show my car to anyone wanting a real GSX. IT IS PERFECT! Troy
