I am looking for a 1970 black on black stage 1 four speed car that once belonged to Chris Lance, Scott Forrester and Scott White. This is a survivor style car, once for sale on eBay by Scott Forrester. It is a bucket seat, hub cap, no consolette, no PB car. One re-paint. Any help finding this car appreciated! Last I heard any thing about that car, it was in the vicinity of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. If I am not mistaken, car was originally equipped with chrome wheels, but Chris changed them due to rust on the originals.
Right?? Haha Totally! You'd be surprised what you find on Craigslist. Dano found mine there last year.
Hi Brett and thanks for the help! The picture you posted looks like the car I am looking for alright! Do you happen to know who owns it now, or can you direct me to someone who might? I wonder who did all the work to it since the 2011 Craigslist posting, as it appears a WAY nicer than this presently.
John has the ownership chain correct, I lost track of it when Scott sold it. And to be clear, that is the ad Chris (CJP69) found and replied to. I knew it would sell fast and I would have no chance to buy it from WA state, so I figured out that my buddy Chris L. was reasonably close, and then I had to TALK him into going to look at it, as he was busy that day taking a motor to the shop or something, if I recall correctly. :>)
I don't know where it ended up but Chris Lance was the one who gave it the once over. That was my dream car! Well, until Lord Vader fell in my lap. Let me find the original thread....
Thanks Jim for the reply and posting of the picture. That's the car alright. Where is it in this picture? Do you know who did the partial restoration work? Any idea of the current owner, or who I might next contact for help?
That was (as is this) a pic Chris L posted of the car shortly after he got it home and cleaned up. I recalled from that post his statement about the chrome wheels being pretty rough, so replaced. I don't know where the car is currently, nor who did the partial resto work. As I said above, the last I heard, car was in Cuyahoga Falls / North Akron area, but I don't know if it still is. For a car that stayed in the same family for thirty years, it seemed to bounce around quite a bit after it sold.
Thanks again Jim and Chris for the help. Scott Forrester told me that as far as he knew, Scott White(who he sold it to), still has the car. Yes, he could be in the Cuyahoga Falls/North Akron area. Does anyone know or have contact for Scott White? Thanks, John
If Scott had it painted then Joe may have painted it which would be a good thing. If so I may have done a set of exhaust manifolds for it too.
Yes, that's the possible current owner. I have sent him a friend request, but he hasn't accepted. How else can I message him? Is anyone out there his friend on Facebook?
He has a Buick page on Facebook. I forgot exactly what it is called. I'll check tonight. He used to be a member here but he got booted...
Thanks Mike! I had to ask permission to join this group. See what happens! Sure would like to know if Scott White still has that black on black Stage 1. J
