Thanks for posting that pic. I was wondering what my motor would look like with painted valve covers on my Al heads. My performer intake is painted red, I wonder what a red intake would look like with those natural al heads.
Sorry Joe,that pic is correct BUT when I painted some metal the shade is about the same as DH 1608 and MY krylon is not HIGH heat. :af: I am going to call Dave Hemker's contact in Michigan and order some from him (2114).In the meantime that KRYLON I bought will go to work with me and I will use it to paint MARKS on steel wires for ships coming into our terminal---the marks show us where to SPOT the ship in it's correct location. Sincerely Pete
i'm kind of upset.... w/e paint T/A sent me burned off during the cam break in...great.... it was krylon i believe
Where did the paint burn off? It is expected to burn off at the exhaust ports on the heads, and the intake exhaust crossovers if they are not blocked on the intake.
I had the same thing happen in the past. Recently, I bought Buick red engine paint from CARS, sprayed some in a cup and then painted on the heads with a brush. That paint survived the cam break in and 1,000 miles later it still looks good. I'd give the CARS paint a try. http://www.oldbuickparts.com/ Paul
