picked up my motor today after 6 years long story.need to get some work done, pistons,rods balanced,crank cut and balanced and other questions answered. Can someone recommend a shop that can help thanks in advance!!! also i have a 4 speed i want to get looked at can anybody recommend a shop for that also. thanks
Tom Andresen is a good guy. A little out of your way in Woodstock but hey if you've waited six years what's another half hour drive in the country on a nice day? He specializes in Buick V8s among other things (Ford F2000 racing engines), etc. Andresen Engine Development 2225 Tech Ct Woodstock, Il 60098 815 338 3966 I was under the impression he does some work for Tom Rix too, could be wrong there. But in any case, he is a sponsor and preferred vendor of Chicagoland GSCA.:beer I had him build my 75 block 462 and it came out just like I asked him to do it. He just does engines but may be able to refer to a tranny specialist.
while your in the Woodstock area this guy is in Johnsburg. He's almost the only guy I trust with my trannies.. (though I dont build performance cars...) good work good prices. Hmmmm I had a different experience with Andresen a few years back. I would PM me before engaging Andresen to do any work. I sent my stuff down to the boys in Owensboro. They are professional and, so far, timely. Good luck with your engine.
