FINALLY got a hotel room. What a joke.

Apparantly what I've been able to learn. Called the Clarion originally, all booked. Called the Holiday Inn, was told to call the Clarion (actually they gave me that number) and told to ask for Sherri as she's handling all the group reservations for both hotels since they are owned by the same parent company. I called Sherri and she had people in her office so she took my name and number and would call me back. Waited the entire day, no call back. Called her again and left a voice mail. This was all a few weeks ago (basically like a day or two after Greg created this thread).

So today I called the Clarion again. All booked, but I was transferred to the group person to truly see if any rooms were available or if I could be put on a waiting list. It's Sherri again and I got her voice mail. Didn't leave a message. Called the Holiday Inn and got my reservation. 2 nights, king bed, $89/night. So we are good to go. FINALLY!!!!

Also, I have no idea if there are any other rooms at the Holiday Inn.

This Sheri has given me the run around for over three weeks. We have called over six times. She tells us that "We're remodelng honey...I just have to figure out where to put you." I have had enough of this lazy bitch. It is just a reservation not rocket science. This was to be my first race,yet I most likely will not attend because of this lady, she has rally got me steamed! :af: Jim

Dont let this stop you from experiencing Muscle Car Drag Racing at its Best. The Clarion was under 'reconstruction' last year. They must have the slowest workers in the world!? Try the hotels on the US131 website. make sure that you pre-register before May 30th to be eligible for the Thousands of $$ of prizes that we give away every year. Is your Buick F.A.S.T. or Factory Stock?

 

Jim, sounds like I was in the same boat as you. although at least she told you or lead you to believe there were rooms. I never got that far. But like Greg said, don't let that deter you from attending. Just because the hotels don't have their act together, doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to enjoy yourself. Give the Clarion a call and forget about Sherri.

 

Got to thinking ....I am not gonna let this Sherri ruin my day. And I shouldn't have wined about it here on the board. So I called the hotel and asked to speak with someone in charge. Long story short...I feel better...Sherri at sometime in the immediate future will getting a chewing. I'm in at the Holiday Inn Thurs Fri Sat...see you there! :TU: Jimbo. Just got my PSMCDR flier and guess what. The first rule highlighted there is that drivers must wear long pants. :rant:

Pretty hot in Georgia that time, not an issue at Stanton. :TU:

Car's about 3 feet in the air with rear end spread all over the garage right now. Changing over to the 4.10 I had in it before, sold the 4.56. Will put the original 3.91 back in it when I stop racing it.

 

I would like to pre register. However family health issues could cause a last minute cancelation. So I'm gonna hope all goes well. Already have the hotel reservations. Haven't even been down the track once...ever. However I will be there god willing, expect wildly inconsistent launches and ET's. Just gonna leave it drive and feather the gas...I can't wait. Hope to see you all there. Jim

Stop by at the track and I can give you a few pointers of what works for me. Every car/driver is different, but I maybe I can give you a little head start in how to launch a GS on Street tires.

I'm going to call the hotel directly a week before to confirm my reservation.
(since there seems to be some issue with that place)

Greg do you have a list of pre-registered people we can veiw. I always enjoy that.

I sent in for Larry with the LS6 Vette, young Larry with a '72 401 4spd AMX and myself with the Boss 302. Paul Aragona is coming with us also in the SD.
