Yes, no reserve, very gutsy. I will be placing a bid at some point, maybe I will get lucky and no one will notice it for sale. ray:
Huh, you don't see many with base interior. I know of four now. I like it...it's different. Nice car.
Nice car Mike. Great backdrop (the trains) in your photos. Good luck with your sale. BTW, how rare is the base interior option?
came real close to pulling the trigger on this one...too bad it wasn't a 4 speed. I would have snatched it up long ago
I saw a red 70 stage 1 go through the Raleigh Auction in Dec 2007 with the base interior. I looked it over and it was a real stage 1. #333 ------ http://www.raleighclassic.com/new/results.php $50K . They said it was an oringinal 40-50K mile car but it looked like a 150K mile car. It could have been a phantom buyer.
didn't Caddies have more torque ? Anyhow, it's my favorite color combo, but sadly, it is sure to skyrocket out of my price range any minute now.
Jim, I actually spoke with the guy who bought that red stage one after the auction and asked him if he had ever owned one and he said no. He also said that he own like something crazy like 40-45 cars ( different makes & models) and was Asheville, NC. I want to say he paid 50K and it had 43K miles Steve Bryan
Hi; I have a 71' stage 1 with the Base (cheapo) interior. Needs total resto. Was a non-poewr sterring car, ordered it in march of 71' All Idid was race it. Ken
How's it goin Ken! Wasn't that a black car if I remember correctly? My wife still talks about those flowers she got from yours....there still alive! (amazing for my wife hehehe) Guy
Guy The base staright bench seat interiors were available at all assembly plants for the entire 70 model run in Skylark and GS small and BigBlock cars. 121 Blue No cost Vinyl Bench 124 Sandalwood No cost Vinyl Bench 128 Black No cost Vinyl Bench I currently own a November 69 Flint Built 70 GS 455 hardtop with Black 128 interior Bench and my 70 GS 455 4 speed hardtop has the Blue 121 Bench Seat interior and is Fremont built in 2nd week of April 1970.
I knew my statement would get some more 12""s out of the woodwork:grin: But that does make more sense that it was available throughout the year. Dave johnson had told me about it being available only on early buildso No: Still...not many out there.

One of the biggest reasons I purchased it is because it was so different.
I own a '71 GS 455 non-stage car that had the base interior. It is a bench seat, no arm rest, no A/C 4 speed car.
No, I am pretty sure Caddy's had more cubes (500 C.I.) but less torque at 500 lb./ft. Correct me if I'm wrong.
