Speedway Auto Sales in Phoenix Az is apparently getting out of business. I called the other day and spoke to them about a few 71-72 skylarks they have and/or what has just recently sold. Rumor has it the owners are disappointed that the cars aren't selling, ($ to high?) and are very serious about closing up. Apparently whatever does'nt sell will be getting crushed very soon.:Dou: I know of a wrecking yard in Mn that is going to this lot to have a look this week. Anyone in the know of this matter or close-by should chime in here....maybe someone can save a few rust free AZ buicks from the dreaded crusher?:ball:

I don't know about this-it seems that they have been 'going out of business' for years-always internet chatter about their high pricing. I know that French Lake Auto Parts (FLAP) near Annandale, Mn. will grab S Calif and AZ cars and haul up-is this the yard you heard about?

Yep thats them, Shaune from FLAP is going there this week. You may be right about them going out of business for years now, Shaune seemed to think its for real this time. When I called Speedway last week they had a few running Larks for ~$2K which doesn't seem bad considering the condition of AZ cars. Even nasty looking AZ cars are prob better to start with than a nice rusty Canadian car? If only AZ wasn't so far away....

I bought one of the two '67 GS400 4 speed cars they had on the lot last Friday. Phil didn't say anything about going out of business at the time, but I'll ask him when I pick the car up this Thursday. I didn't look at every complete car he has for sale, but all of the GS cars (except the one I bought) are quite rusty or banged up.

Hello Len, I was wondering if when you go to pick up your cars if you could check see what kind of shape his 70-72 gs hoods (with scoops) are in? I got a rusty one here and don't know when Parts Place will have there repo's available for sale? Kinda looking for a 69 2-door cat for future project if he has anything...thanks, Gord

racenu - I only saw one '70 GS on the lot when I was there. He wants $4500 for the complete car and won't part it out.

I'll ask if he has any more hidden away.

Okay...I'll call your bluff. I need a rust-free 70-72 non-post car body (minor dents ok). fenders and doors would be nice, but not necessary. You locate it, I'll buy it if it isnt a crazy price, I'll pick it up on a trailer in July, and I'll hand you $300.00 for your time. That offer is open to anyone who can find me a rust-free body (no glass/interior/etc) between California and Georgia, and I'll pick it up during the month of July.

goo,d thin,g yo,u kkn,ow ho,w t,o buil,d stu,ff because you need to chill out and remove the comma key from your keyboard. Thanks.

Thank God I bought a house built in 1981. My friend bought a new house here in Vegas and the thing is falling apart as we speak. My house doesn't creak when there are 30 mph winds and his has 2 foot cracks coming off of every corner of his sliding glass door.

Joe, if you can understand this I will try and help you. Calling your bluff is a figure of speach. He was not trying to insult you. He basically was hoping that what you meant by "Arizona connection" was that you wouldn't mind making a finder's fee if you stumbled upon one of these cars.

I am not going to read this thread again so please don't respond in anger unless you feel the need. There isn't any.:beer

hey bodyman i do understand english and what you said i,m so glad you bought your house in 1981 to bad about your friends house. but the good news is i,m not to far from vegas and i could take a crew over there and fix it for him.

sounds like all he needs to do is underpin the foundation with concrete and fix all the damage inside. as far as my comma key goe,s i never touch the thing it just happens.

Flip shaune and Their Dad at FLAP have been really raising there prices too. The Apollos if any out there Flip will grab for Nova parts and wont let any one touch anything on the x body cars. A body cars go high buck a the yard too, a fender out of arizona like he has been doing are going for 200-300 each, Bumpers 125-200 each , What use to be a reasonable yard to shop is going to highest buyer and demo derby in all the Electras, he wont part Electras but sells them to derby. Makes me mad when All I wanted was trim off Electras and would not sell them , FLAP is ruining auto parts in derby and high prices, Sorry to hear about Speedway, but when asking on parts they said was picked over too high for me to buy, Let Flip and Shaune and Floyd know you want to get parts not demoderby buicks out of their yard, and ask for best price possible. craig
