Has anyone had experience with the molded kick panels that have provisions for speakers? Im working on a stereo for the 72 that currently only has an AM radio. I will not cut the dash or the door panels. Just wondering if they were decent quality and if installation was straight forward. ---------- Post added at 02:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:10 PM ---------- The more I look Im not sure anyone makes a panel for a non-AC car with manual vents.... hmm, now what to do???
Don't know about the non-a/c panels, but............ The a/c panels are a harder/stiffer plastic than the originals and not as flexible. The driver's side speaker interferes with the e-brake pedal, so the pedal has to be spaced out about a quarter/half inch. I'd suspect if there are any made for the non-a/c cars, they'll have the same problems. :TU:
I used KNA kickpanel speaker panels in my Buick and what Dean said it right - they are not as flexible though were an easy install.

i just ordered a set of these from some folks off ebay for about 130 including shipping for my 68 skylark convertible. i'll take some photos and upload for all to see once installed.
I've had a set in my 72 for probably 5 years. No problems and are decent quality, but, I'm no audiophile. I didn't have to move anything in my car. I can't remember who's they are though. (Maybe Custom Auto Sound) Just a guess. It's been too long! Mike D.
I plan on doing my own kick panel speakers. I have an extra set of kicks. I just need to get my azz in gear and do it. I will post picture when I get them done. some century. LOL Tim
