Here are some Skylarks in a yard I go to once in a while. Green 71 4 dr next is 72 with trees growing against both doors. What is that convert next to it? any ideas? It says super on the fender and has split windshield. Olds maybe?
How about a 72 post coupe. Also a random Buick hood laying in the woods. Someone loved that hood once.
Not a Buick but real cool Chevy Apache pickup. Was Vermont Highway dept. I cannot beleive some Chev guy has not snapped it up.
Hmm, 48 Buick.....With Super on it?...George there is also another 72 here with an 8.5 and it has a posi tag but like you said it looks New England crusty.
I'm pretty sure that most of the Buick rear ends from the early 70's were the 8.2" rears. Only Canadian built cars came with the 8.5" rears in those years.
Would that place be in Smithfield RI or Brimfield Ma by any chance? If not than try to find some big cars from the early 70's next time you're there.
('46, '47,'48 are almost identical) '48 Buick; http://www.thebaycitymotorcompany.c...1948 Buick Super Convertible (3) (Custom).JPG
There is a neat little yard near Fall River named Will and Sons. It's off the beaten path but has a few oldies in the back. I stripped out a '71 Delta 88 Royale there a couple of years ago.
I've only seen the 2 old car yards so far. Most of the yards I know of are modern stuff with a handfull of old iron tucked in a corner and not much help to most people.
Ted would that yard be just east of Fall River, north side of 195 as you get into Dartmouth. If it is they used to have a lot of good stuff in there. I bought many engines and transmissions from them:TU: .
Yes,that's the one I believe, off of Reed Rd or something like that that turns into Hixville Rd. I stopped at a nearby store and someone told me about another yard nearby on Hixville Rd that may have had some oldies,I went there but it was closed.
