The BF radial 295/50/15's I have stuffed on the stock rims are a joke for traction, thats even with the TA traction bars.

Time for some good drag radials, most people on this board prefer the MT ET Streets, what's the best size?

is it the 275/60/15's.... which I think are best or is it the 275/50/15's.....??

    thx

I've never used MT Streets but I do have a pair of BFG Drag Radials and I can say from experience that they are only marginally better than street tires. If I had any more power they would have been a complete waste of money.

    Vin,
ET streets are sized like an "old" style tire and not in metric sizes. I ran 30x12.5x15. It's a huge tire and I JUST made it fit, but boy do they hook!! I tried other slicks over the years for comparison and they hook just as well as any I've tried. On a higher HP application, like 700HP and up, they may spin a little, I can't say as I was only around 625HP and a 3800 lb car.

All I can say is that I loved them! Right now I'm running MT Sportsman Pro's and I like them too. I have several pictures with both front tires in the air with these fully grooved street tires! On my new drag car, (820 hp & 3000lbs) I'll be running Hoosier radial slicks 32x14.

    Hope this helps some!!

I run the MT radial 295-65-15 and they hook pretty good 1.52 60ft with them.I even had to drive them in light rain and they weren't as bad as I thought they would be.I know you can get them in a 275 I think in a 60 series. My 295 needed the wheel lips and tubs worked to fit them on a 8.5' and 10'rim.
On the street I can roll into them pretty hard, but if I pound them they will spin.

I am also looking for a tire that HOOKS and LOOKS STOCK.

Are Hoosier L60-15 softie's as good as MT sportsman Pro's?

My friends BF Goodrich Drag radials were usless for big block use.

I would get the 275/60/15 they are 28x10.8 while the 275/50/15s are 25.8x10.8

Yes, I plan to get the 275/60's.... plan to order them next week and on the car the following week.

Will post back on results of first gear full throttle and launch. As mentioned, I cant floor it at any speed in first gear, even If I ease into it, once and full throttle the tires are just no match.

    VinMan out....

Finally ordered the MT ET streets and put them on this weekend, I turned in the letters on the front tires since the ET's are black wall only.

WOW.... this friggin beast is now a 0-60 contender with the best the new computer controlled M5's, AMG's, Porche's, etc....have to offer up.....:beer

If you simply floor it, the beast will stilll lay long patches of rubber, but with a little finesse launching it from a stop I can be at full throttle within 10-20ft and.... holy cow batman.... hold-on....:bla: .......:3gears:

Had the wife and kids in it today, kids are 4 & 5 so they are in car seats. My girls BEG me to get on it becasue it tickles there tummies..... but I pretty much had to do it previously in 2nd gear since first gear would just roast the tires. Today I took off from a stop sign about half throttle, then nailed it..... my wife looked at me and simply shook her head..... but with a smile. She's a good wife and knows I'm a moron like most of you.....:beer

The girls of course said..."daddy, do that again.....". But my wife had another opinion:Dou: .... so I did it once more.... come on guys!!!!:bglasses:

This link should take you to pictures of it with the MT ET Streets.

    Sooo, speaking of mt's,

Has anyone tried stuffing these into a 69 wheel well? I have 14's and I'm sticking with them as it's hard enough to get a wide 14 inside those weird wheel wells. Right now I have BFG 245-60-14 all the way around. As mentioned above - ZERO traction. The picture of this tire though looks twice as fat as the ones I currently have on, unless it's just a file photo.

Ken those tires look small 7" tread 24.2 diameter with 3.08 gears the diameter should be ok.I had 235/60/15 on a 8.5 rim on mine.As far as traction i don't know if they will work with your motor mine is a mild 430 1.92 60' i am sure your makes alot more torque.Just my 2 cents
