Hey folks just a heads-up . I ramble on a quite abit here and I'll apoligize now for past and probably future episodes . My wife has been sick for some time now . Doctors were too D*&^% stupid and would just give her pills or tell her it's all in her head or age . She suffers severe bloody noses with no warning aches /pain etc. the list goes on . Her doctor asked her if she picked her nose :blast: :blast: :blast: , also told her her pain was job related , or in her head . Health Care Worker for 25+ years . Well her tests / biopsy came back . She has a severe Liver Disease ( stage 2 ). Turns out this disease fools the body /immune system into thinking that muscles etc. are causing the condtion . So the immune system attacks the muscles etc. causing severe pain , flu-like symptoms and bloody noses . (this is a short list) . She starts Chemotherapy this week . Man this stuff is just as bad as the disease ! It can cause bone loss, thyroid failure , heart attacks, an extreme form of anemia (fatal) , blindness , and Severe Clinical Depression (suicide is common) . She has about a 50% or less chance of cure . We won't know for sure for 3 months of treatment . The hardest part for me is having no control and the very real possibility of her not responding or worse . To make matters worse ,I'm physically disabled and have PTSD . Alot of her friends have since bailed saying they can't handle watching her go through this . So our support system ( mental / physical ) is just about non-existent . Even her own twin brother turned on her and will not contact her . The Bast$%# Your Prayers will be a great gift to her . I haven't put a name to this disease but some may recognize it as it of Epidemic Proportions . It also has a stigma attached to it . NOT " HIV " . So again I apologize if I've offended anyone here . This is a real stressful time in our lives and has been for some time . Steve
make sure and look her in the eye's every day and tell her how much you love her. been down the chemo world a few times from cancer myself. still at it and been fighting for over 7 years. the friends where not friends if they bailed out on you two. what gets me through latly is just keeping busy. and my kids. i had a good suport group as well and when i lost all my hair from the chemo my friends all shaved there heads. this looked great (for me anyways). i will be one to pray to help you threw it,and to keep at it. 3 month is only a finger nail of time. it goes very fast. my hopes and prayers are with you and may god bless you and your wifes efforts.
From Nebraska... Steve, Don't forget to tell her we are all praying for her in Nebraska as well. Don't ever give up, she will overcome, I believe it!!
Steve , our best wishes to you and your family . Stay strong and remember your wife is in our prayers .
Steve, So sorry to hear about your wife. I HATE doctors! They refuse to listen so often. I'll be praying for her fast recovery.
Steve, the most important thing is that you are there for her and that she always knows how much you love her. Tell her every day. You have our prayers always. Please consider consulting other doctors whenever you can just to know you are following the right paths.
Steve, You and your wife are in our prayers. And be sure you tell her everyday how much you love her and how much she means to you. I had cancer and was only given 1- 3 yrs to live but i fought my battle along with my wife and family and beat it and so can you and your wife. Besure to always keep a positive attitude thats 90 per cent of the battle. Take care of her & yourself.
Thanks One & All , We're both very greatful for your prayers and support . Chilli is sleeping now , she started "tx" today . I let her know about your responses she was really happy to hear that . Hope all is well with you all , you all aren't getting beat by the heat . It was 104 in the shade here today ,it's past 5 and still 102 !! (I could see this in the desert but not in the Cascade Mountains . Fire Season this year has been quiet ,Thank God ! Best to you all, Steve & Shirlene (Chilli)
I will pray too. I came here (to V8 Buick) to find an answer to my problem, I found an answer. I have no problem, just an inconvience. I am able, I can walk, I can ask a friend for a ride. I thought I would pray tonight for guidence. Better I should say thank you Lord. It's all about love. Sir, I do hope the best for you and your wife. Best wishes, and good luck. Mary T.
Wow Mary, You showed me something that we all forget at one time or another. Praying when we have needs is a very good thing to do, but praying when everything is fine is very good too. Thanks for the reminder. Thank you Lord!!!!!!!!!!
Steve, I'll keep you and your wife in my prayers. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be to have to watch your loved one go through something like that. God Bless!
Thanks for the prayers , Glenn . She's still smiling !! We've got a ways' to go yet . But she's been blessed , I'm sure . God Bless , Steve & Chilli
