some of the red lines are worth several hundred dollars each. looks like you have a good collection. you might get more by listing them by the piece. im going to guess $2k for the set and i hope you get more.

Now you guys know i was a car junkie long before i could drive:laugh:
We used to have races in my front yard pretty much every day during summer vacation.Remember i was like 9-12 when i played with them:laugh: I left all my track stuff at my dads house & it got auctioned off by the company i hired to liquidate his things when he passed away.Bet they made more than they told me:af:
WOW!!! Just as a bench mark....$510.00 5 hrs into the auction.

Boy alot of those cars look familiar. Great collection.

Do you have a picture of the chrome Boss Hoss? If I remember that is chrome with black stripes. I remember waiting and waiting on that car to come in the mail. That's the one I've looked and looked for at my parent's house. Never could find it.

I also remember the Jack Rabbit. Don't know if its rare but it was one of my favorites.

That is why survivors are worth so much.....if you didn't destroy yours, they ones that survived would be less...same goes for so many consumables.:TU:

My youngest brother has thousands (seriously) of hot wheels cars. Matching sets, rare VW window buses, etc. I think I'll go tell him to put them in a safe deposit box at the bank, or something.

You were sick as a kid Jamie!

What kid didn't play with them in the sand?
My hotwheels, tonka trucks and everything else got abused badly when the days got long and boring in summer.
4th of July was bound to see some carnage with the toys!

    Did you have any brothers?
Brothers were sure to abuse each others toys like that.

i saw a 69 olds cutlass in the package sell for 2k:Dou: there are some serious collectors of hot wheels out there and you may have 1 or 2 that they need to make their collection complete so they are hoping to get your whole collection at a cheaper price than they know what it will sell for. good luck and im still guessing upwards of 2k. that should help you out on your restoration.:TU:

check out this guys collection http://redlinecollector.com/ you may want to contact him he looks like a serious collector.

heres another with some prices http://smokeyz1.tripod.com/

I'm still have emotional scars from the experience.

    Firecrackers.
We used to bend the rear wheels downward so they were jacked up in the rear too. :Dou: :spank:

Actually for original cars that have not been monkeyed with I find it easy to believe they would sell for 25-30 each.

I had primarily 1972-1975 vintage Hotwheels including 15 that my parents forgot to give to me in Christmas 1974. They were enamel paint not the "Spectraflame" paint like these early redlines.

I sold just the sealed in the pack redlines to a toy collector 5 years ago for $7000!

Not kidding, seven thousand dollars. I was going to keep them but the ones I played with were more special to me because I played with them...

    Good luck on your sale!

Ha! I had that!! And the Evel Kneivel motorcycle that you wound up on the stand and let go. It did wheelies. My mother hated that toy because it made black tire marks on the floors. Or my Kenner SSP smash up derby set with the zip chords and the parts would fly off when they smashed together. :beers2:

I remember my parents buying me a Cox car and a can of nitromethane and tolds me to go play in the street! :puzzled: :Dou:  I can still smell the castor oil......

They'd probably take your kids away from you if you gave them some of the stuff we played with.
