MY last track outing

OK, I don't think I've posted any kills here, so here are a few, and one death. I only got three runs in at the track. The track is at 2700 ft elevation. I was driving my 2000 Regal GS.

Well, I called out my friend Bob in his nitroused LS1 Z28, and well, he spanked my arse!!!!!

Well, at the end it was actually a pretty close race. We only raced once, and here is the result.

    Bob
RT 1.172 (maybe we'll call him BobsleepingZ )
    60' did not register
    1/8 9.362@80.775
    1/4 14.17@103.37

    GS Dave(not my best run)
    RT .679(almost sleepy)
    60' 2.154
    1/8 9.43@73.807
    1/4 14.72@91.79

His margin of victory was only .06. grrrrr. Nothing like thinking you have a vicory than seeing you opponent litteraly fly by you at the end. A margin of 6/100ths and a speed differential of 12mph, he litterally flew by me with in a few feet of the finish. If only I cut a better light!!!! I'll get him next time!!!!!

It was also hotter than Hades out there. It was 94 degrees on our run. My non intercooled M90 blown V60 doesn not like the heat. :(

just for kicks our corrected times are 13.72@106.5(yikes!!!0 and mine was 14.25@94.5. 12mph differential.

I had a PB on another run, but because of the heat(I think) it wasn't as fast as I was hoping.

my second race was against a lightly modded 99+ Stang GT Vert Auto. I think he only had CAI.

    Stang
    RT 1.235 (Yawn)
    60 ft 2.312
    1/8 9.94@72.35
    1/4 15.38@89.41

    Me
RT .838(Bob got me yawning LOL)
    60ft 2.264 oops bogged bad
    1/8 9.519@74.39
    1/4 14.792@92.24

My Margin of Victory was .989 woo hoo!!! Taste like chicken.

My last race was against a litely modded WRX, CAI and Exhaust(thats all I could see). This looked like a good match up. He had his own cheering section. They were all calling out his name. Then I did a quick chirp to clean off my tires. His cheering section laughed at me(about 15 people, it was very noticable) (this happens a lot to me at the track) . I guess they think I was trying to do a burnout . LOL So, I needed to make sure I won this one. I was a little pissed off!!!

    WRX
    RT .533(uh oh)
    60' 2.496(so much for AWD)
    1/8 9.959@74.332
    1/4 15.201@92.41

    Me
RT .566(very good for me )
    60' 2.139 (my new PB)
    1/8 9.415@73.794
    1/4 14.719@91.81(new PB)

The left lane was trapping higher, I was pulling on the Rex the whole way. My MOV was .449... good thing I didn't snooze at the light. His cheering section was awfully quiet when I pulled around.

My buddy in a 240SX with SR20DET swap was a no show. FLAKE!!!!

Because of the heat, I'm probably done racing for the summer, maybe on or two times if there is a cold spell, you know high 70s low 80s LOL.

So my new corrected PB for altitude(not heat index) is 14.25@94.56. It was around 89 on that run according to my cars thermometer.

For comparison, here are some times of a few other cars running.
e55 AMG(k&n panel, and some thermal mods) 14.17(don't remember mph)

Honda S2000 15.28 (still had dealer plates LOL)

Moderately modded WRX with some turbo mods(BOV and some other stuff) 15.20 but was dialed in at 14.6 so I think that 15.2 was a bad run for him.

A heavily modded twin turbo Z, this thing was beautifull, 12.1s!!!!

    Modded 98 Cobra Stang w/4.56 gears...13.2s

    Acura RSX-S....17.0 (newbie girl driver).

Acura CL(debadged, assume an S) 15.5( I really wanted to race this guy, but it didn't happen)

A 68 Camaro on slicks running low 12s.

The track was really crowded so I only got the three runs in. I know that with a few more runs I would have gotten a 2.0X 60 foot. I was tuned in to the track, they were also a little more generous with the VHT I think.

I'm still a slomofo, but getting quicker.

Next mod, is to autotap my car, I am suspecting some false knock, Oh, and my exhaust shop ran out of mandrel bent exhaust, so I have stock catback minus the resonator(now) and u-bend.

My mods on the Regal are 3.4" pulley, gutted airbox, DHP PCM, TOG headers, u-bend and resonator delete.

    Dave
