I would think when you pay a grand for a stainless system the quality would be better than this. The mufflers may come tomorrow, I'm afraid to look at them!:jd: Now I'm going to have to get fired up all over again........my son who can't even use tools could have done a better looking job than this. Am I on candid camera or something?
Geez, maybe TA's system ain't so bad after all. What are those pieces welded on the ends? That's too bad Joe. PS. I do have an NOS resonator hanger. Can't remember if it's left or right. PM me if you are interested. I bought it off ebay thinking it was a different hanger. ou:
Those arent welds! A good, acceptable weld is supposed to look like a roll of dimes on top of each other. Does anyone see that there? I dont. I feel bad for you Joe. Sorry to hear that. I would go right back to them to see what the problem was. Good Luck.
Umm, maybe post the name of these morons so we can avoid `em. That's unbelievably poor workmanship IMHO.
Believe it or not, I found them in the Buick Bugle.........Kepich exhaust............I'm just waiting to see what the mufflers end up looking like..............these parts are a joke!ou:
send them back....they must think its april 1st or something.. thats lousy for big $$$ or any $ at all.....
Hope you put them on a charge card. I'd be disputing that charge before it got any later in the day! regards
With the crappy weld quality, I'll be surprised they don't leak. I would be speaking to someone on the phone asap about this. For $1000 I would expect top-notch work, not amatuer work like that.
Holy F-in crap!!! Those look like some kids high school shop welding project. Good grief joe. I am sorry you're having to deal with all this. I know the feeling of being all pumped when the box arrives, opening it up and just being mortified. *makes mental note to avoid Kepich
Send them back with a dynamite in it!! What a pile of junk you've got there! I feel sorry for you.. :ball: :blast:
Oh my God Joe. I thought it was just that one dimple in your first post, but this is mind boggling. Did you get a price from Gardner Exhaust Systems first? I can't imagine they would charge you much more than what you paid for these pieces of crap. I feel your pain. I would be creating new a-holes for all involved as we speak if it were mine. What was the name of this company??? Inquiring minds not only want to know, they "need" to know so we don't have these crack heads make exhaust systems for anyone else. :Smarty:
I found their phone number and called.........they don't make Riv exhaust systems. I then explained to him that there is a good market for them since nobody makes them anymore. Right now if I had the money to invest I would just make the darned things myself and be the first to offer them.:af:
I kept reading waiting to see that you found and discovered the hidden cameras! Sorry and sad to see that this wasn't a joke. I've never welded but I sure know a good and acceptable weld from a shoddy and unacceptable one! I'll bet I might could come that close myself. I would call the vendor back and demand a full money back refund. Not only are the weld horrendous, but crimping the pipes like they did is also totally unacceptable. Really sorry for you and hope your situtation has a good outcome and peaceful resolution!
Re: TA Performance has a system... They don't offer a stock replacement system, and they also don't supply the '66 front pipes that I would need to fit my Nailhead. I may have tried that if they did. :bglasses:
Those things are horrific looking. I swear I have seen better welds from beginer welding students. I would not have paid $50 for them let alone $1000. I'd stop payment ASAP, send them back and make sure you warn as many Riv owners as you can to steer clear of these hacks.
