I was here yesterday looking for the elusive Pilot actuator valve for my ACC on the Riv. No luck on my part but I did get some good pics and had a nice afternoon crawling through all the old cars. Name of this place is called Old Gold. hes on the web @ oldgoldcars.com. Wayne also mentioned he has a 72 GS and needs a air cleaner with good plastics if any of you have one.
I didn't think you were allowed to walk through that place.....Are there certain days you are allowed to? Scott
Im a regular there so he lets me go out as I please. I found some un molested 70 Rivs out there in the tall grass that I hadnt seen before. 1 had a complete 455 in it and the other had an under dash 8 track that might clean up ok.
Very cool pics. Not many places like that left after that last scrap boom a few years ago. I saw stuff getting scrapped for more than the parts were worth that some would give their left nut for.
A few years ago he scrapped about 30 acres of old cars. who knows what went out of there crushed. If he was to re organize whats left it would take up 1/2 the space. If any of you need something form there give Wayne a call.
I was there in 1985 and I bet some of the cars are still there or those were the ones he crushed....his prices were sky high back then (he wanted $50 for a 70-2 Skylark regular clock).....I never forgot that outrageous price....old gold and he thinks the parts are made from gold....that's why they are rusting away in the pasture/field.
Steve, let him know I have the plastic parts from 2 72 GS air cleaners, both are missing the "cup" on the small side though
Kirt, Give him a call. He may trade you for some parts you need for the 69. I saw several of them out there.
Im sure theres plenty. Give him a call and tell ya Steve with the 68 Riv refered ya. I cant vouch for the condition of anything out there as its been sitting for many moons.
