Picked up this N.O.S. tri shield emblem yesterday. Part # 4488537s
I've tried looking up what it's to with no luck. I'm guessing 62-65 era
Any knowledge would be appreciate. Thanks Mike L

65 Buick special....get in touch with a guy on V8 who has a magnificent 65 beast, he has been looking for one forever! "gobuick" from Washington state?
p.s. the Skylark ones have tabs on the upper and lower of the medallion

Looks like a 65 Skylark tail light emblem although I'm not 100% certain.

Hello Gary- I seen a N.O.S. 1965 Special rear panel with the tri shield emblem on it on EVILBAY - the panel itself is part #4488536 just 1 # away from tri shield piece I have #4488537s. And makes sense that they should be together. However what throws me off when I look at tri shield in back that is on EVILBAY it doesn't have the 3 large mounting pieces around tri shield emblem on backside????

The reason I'm so sure is I had a NOS one like the one you posted, I don't remember the numbers though.
The only thing I can think of is possibly the 65 Electra?
I sent a pm to gobuick he might contact you? He might be able to shed some light on the number differences?

Does your emblem on your 65 Special have the same 3 big mounting studs like mine on back???
    Thanks

I don't know about the numbers, but it looks a lot like a '64 Skylark. They have 3 mounting posts.

After looking at some pictures, I see it's not a '64. It has the little grooves all the way around it like '64, but also has a cove detail around the outside diameter that '64 don't have. 3 pins look similar to '64, but the back has less wave shape to it than '64. So all the help I've been is to eliminate it being from '64. Has to be close to that year I would think, or maybe a Wildcat, they have a lot of similar trim to Skylark.

    Hey Mike,
I am still loving the interior I got from you. Thanks again! How is your back holding up?

I wasn't even thinking about the fact that this one is a one piece emblem, as I knew '64 is 2 piece. I should have dug a little deeper before I started telling what I thought I knew, ha ha!
Either way, this is a pretty nice emblem you have. GLWS
