Doing a bit of cleaning, and took the back seat out of my '73 GS... and lo and behold this was behind the rear seat back. I already found the paperwork on the gas tank years ago, but this was a surprise find.

I was able to un-stick it without it turning to dust and have under a heavy book to help flatten it.

    What is this document called?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I thought as much, but after your note I then wondered what we found on top of the gas tank way back when if this was the build sheet… so I went digging. Same thing! Guess between the two, I have *almost* one complete. :)

That is a GMAD (General Motors assembly division) build sheet and it is often called a Broadcast sheet.

They were used in all the GMAD plants and list all the options that came on the car.

Thanks, I didn't know that the "build sheet" and "broadcast sheet" referred to the same document. I appreciate the education!

“Build sheets” are a catch all term, there are many types of them, including ones from Fisher Body as well as GMAD, for your particular car.

The sheet you have is also sometimes referred to as a “Chevy” style build sheet, as they were basically all built by the GMAD division.

I figured Duane would chime in with the correct terminology. Learn something new every day.

I do way more "lurking and reading" here than I do posting, and I am always impressed and appreciative of the knowledge shared...
