How do you adjust the parking brakes on a 2000 Dodge minivan? I followed the cables and do not see any adjustment mechanism???? My pedal goes to the floor and I have just a minimum amount of "stop".

bill, does your van have 4 wheel disc brakes? if it does the emergency brake shoes are INSIDE the rear brake rotors. there is an adjustment for them on the backing plate. did this problem happen all at once or gradually? if an adjustment doesnt help you will have to remove the rear rotors and check the shoes. good luck

I'm having the same problem with our 98 Grand Caravan. I've had two different people look at it, and they don't know either. I might be forced to take it back to the dealer to get it fixed.

If any has any ideas, please share.

No discs - just regular drums. Shoes look good, drums OK.

Bill, The Emergency Brake Adjustment Is Dependent On The Proper Operation Of The Rear Shoes. Make Sure Your Rear Brakes Are Properly Adjusted. Binding Or Locked Up Adjusters Are Common On Drum Brakes.
