No. on block is 1343404 GM. I bought this at an auction and was told it came from a late 40's Buick. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks much for the info. I have no need for the engine, but was bidding against a scrap man who would have taken it to the shredder. I have several old cars and the thought of losing this engine bothers me. Someone out there needs this for a project and I was simply trying to save it. I suppose I'll take it to Hershey and sell it.
