Is the pinchweld molding the same on 1968-1972 convertibles? I thought they were the same till I went to pull a set off a 1969 GS. The pinchweld molding on this car continued into two pieces at the base of the 1/4 panel glass. These lined up with a piece that run the length of the doors. The outside weatherstrip clipped into these pieces on the door and 1/4 glass. The trim is about 1" wide. Any help identifying these and their value would be appreciated. Kraig
Pinchweld molding only goes around the back of the top. Sounds like you are describing the upper peak molding.
So is the pichweld molding different when the car was ordered with peek molding? The ends of the pinchweld molding fit inside the 1/4 peek molding and are different than the ends on my 70 pinchweld molding. Will this 6 piece set of peek and pinchweld molding only work on 68-69 or 68-72 car? Kraig
I can tell you that for 68, and probably 69, pinch weld molding IS different for peak molding and non-peak molding cars. No experience with 70-up, but 70-up peak molding is totally different from 68-9 peak molding
Anyone got a pic of what they look like on a 69 car? Ive seen the 70's with an inch gap and dont like it.
Don't have a good pic, but for 68-9 they are about 1" wide and right up against the windows, no gap like 70-72
I think they were called belt reveal moldings and they were optional (code W5). They ran along the tops of the quarter and doors. I would be very surprised if they fit 70 and up cars. When you come up with a price let me know, I may be interested in them :Brow:
