Need help installing sport wheel

I'm installing a Sport Wheel in my 70 GS which originally had a deluxe wheel. Does anyone have an assembly breakdown that would help me install the adaptor hub, sport wheel and cap, and all of the screws for the horn components. This is my first time changing out a steering wheel.

    Thanks
    Matt

Make sure you have the horn contact for the sport wheel.

You will need the spring, spring retainer and contact pin. Put the spring into the horn contact tube, then the large end of the pin then the retainer. Rotate retainer so locking nub is engaged in tube cutout for it.

Install the hub w/wheel. You can use a 3/8" drive ratcher with 7/8" socket to tighten the steering wheel nut. Install the horn contact to the wheel then snap on the horn button. That is all there is too it. Should take you about 10 mins.

    George,

Thanks for the info! One question, the horn contact tube, is that on the hub? :Do No:

    Thanks.

Here is a pic of the horn contact and the arrow points to the horn contact tube. It has a slot in it and it looks like the letter "L" this horn contact pin collar/retainer engages the slot.

    George,

After reviewing your picture it's obvious I'm still missing a few parts. I currently don't have a digital camera but I'll barrow the one from work on Tuesday and post a picture of what parts I do have.

    Thanks
    Matt

Probably still available thru the dealer. They are on ebay all the time. Remember the ones they sell now have the aluminum contact piece that needs to be cut down for the sport wheel. If you buy nos one it directions for cutting come with it

The steering wheel puller will use two 5/16-18 bolts to screw into the holes in the steering wheel. You insert them into the threads about 3/4"-1" and then rotate the main threaded shaft on the puller which will rotate on/against the main splined shaft that held the 7/8" nut. Wheel will loosen and you will have it off.

Is a hack saw the best way to cut the plunger down?
