ok! I have decide I have waited long enough to start playing with my toys agian.

A quick background on my Buick. I am 32 years old. I have been a GS fan since I was 7. My dad had a 68 GS 350. I loved that car. I wanted a GS a my first car, couldn't find one I could afford as a teenager. So, When I was 19 (1989) I purchased a clean 69 skylark for cheap $. I then purchased 3 more 69 GS cars and put them all together to make one.

What I ended up with is now a 69 GS 350, Original engine (never rebuilt) TH 350 Trans Rebuilt with mild shift kit, Black buckets with power windows floor shift. It is painted a (non factory) medium metalic blue.

The body was redone (very little to no rust then) in 1992. It was garaged kept as a toy half the time since and the other half I used it as my daily driver. It now has some minor rust on the back of both rear quarters and the trunk lid.

It has had low Oil Pressure forever 5-10 PSI in gear hot at idle, (OK maybe even worse). She is very tired now I think it will spin a bearing if I drive it hard!

I have a few engine options to go with now.
    1. I have a Turbo intercooled 3.8 V6 just hangin out under the work bench.
    2. I have a 70 350 with 60K original miles (clean as a whistle inside). I have new roller rockers, gasket set, oil pump, distributor, water pump. All I really need for this engine is cam (which one should I get?) and intake, carb, and headers.
    3. A local wrecking yard has a 73 455 with 72K runs good I could get for $400 and go the big block route.

What do you guys think about the GN motor swap? Cool or sacraligous?

I am leaning towards the 70 350. How much would a decent porting job cost for the heads/intake? Which cam manufacture/ model would be the right choice for my stock 3.08 gear ?

    Sorry so long......

    Jake

My vote would be to either rebuild either 350 or order a crate engine from T/A Performance. To raise the oil pressure, an oil pump kit is cheap and will raise your oil pressure quite a bit. For maximum driveability, slide in a 200R4 4-speed automatic transmission and you'll be on the move!
Q: got a '69 GS hood you want to sell?:Brow:

Wow! How cool would a 69 Turbo car be! :Brow: Dude, you gotta do it! It would seem a bit unnatural to see a 69 that whistles. :eek2: But would it not be cool? :TU:

Seriously though, it really would be awesome since 69's are my favorite year and I've yet to see a turbo 6 banger 69. My second choice would be the 73 455.

I'm putting a 72 455 in my 69. The original numbers matching 400 will take a long rest in the garage.

That car would fly with the Turbo6 .. I know a person here who put a BONE STOCK 87 GN driveline in a 65 Skylark and it runs 12's I think. Very very fast. If done right it actually looks like it belongs there...

Waaay cool. Otherwise put the 70 350 in it.

    Btw, is your car a REAL 69 GS 350 i.e. Vin: 434379

Not many around.. Trust me, I've been LOOKING. the California GS is different ya know, not a true "GS 350" hehe.

As you may have guessed I have one too.

Yes my vin # is 43437......... The car is a product of no less then 5 GS's and skylarks. I you saw one of the GS's I ruined to make my car nicer you would shoot me...:blast: But I was young and had no $ to restore another at the time.

I will definitately use the turbo motor in somthing... I miss my GN Bad.......
