My wife works in Martinsburg, WV, which is about 15 minutes south of Hagerstown, MD on I-81. We want her commute to be about 30 minutes or less. Based on that we're looking right across the state line in the Winchester, VA area, all the way up to Greencastle, PA. For MD it's the Hagerstown / Boonsboro area. In WV we're looking at Martinsburg, Falling Waters, Inwood and out toward Berkeley Springs. The commute is the priority but from my standpoint I'm looking at the distance to Mason Dixon Dragway as well as Raystown Lake in PA and the Middle River area of the Chesapeake Bay for boating. The dragstrip is reasonably close to where we're looking. The lake and the bay will be a little bit further than I'm used to driving to boat (30min vs. 90 min) It'll also be nice to be within a days drive to Bowling Green or Norwalk as well as Cecil County.

Gotcha, I'm somewhat familiar with the area. Hagerstown is 45-60 minutes from me. By the time you're moved, settled, and back to making hoods, I should be ready to buy and shipping won't be a concern! :)

Hey Craig, it will be good to have you in the area. I'm about an hour from Hagerstown and just a bit more from Martinsburg. Maybe we'll see you at Mason Dixon Dragway or Cecil County.

Will do! The wife is going with a realtor Sunday to view houses we have on our list that we've driven by. Over the next couple of weekends maybe she can look at a few more. Then I fly back around the end of March and we pick the top 5 of all she's looked at and we'll do another walk through and hopefully put an offer in on something shortly after that. Hopefully close say mid-May and then I can ship my GS and Mustang back, load the F150 with the dogs, hook up the boat trailer and head back to drop all of that off. Fly back to AZ and load up a 25' rental truck with what's left in the house, mostly garage stuff and minimal furniture I've been living on since they moved my wife back in June. Hook that rental truck to a trailer and load on my other shell of a GS clone and hit the road for one final time! Other than my drive time and hotel, seems the most cost effective plan based on quotes I've received. Hopefully I'll be all settled in to the new place by mid-June. I should have the boat motor rebuilt and dyno'd by this March. When I get settled that'll be the first job, finish bolting that all back together and get some play time on the water. I'm definitely looking forward to getting the GS back to the drags and meeting some other Buick guys in the area! Maybe one of my side projects that coming winter will be to get the clone GS together as a racecar, toss the drivetrain in from the red GS and see if I can break into the 10's???

Well, I'm a little closer to getting back in business, we made an offer on a place just east of Berkeley Springs, WV. It has 10.5 acres, no close neighbors, no HOA and a ~50 x 30 pole barn already on the property. It has a concrete floor and lighting. I'll get with the local builder about closing in the open carport side too. It'll have enough room to store my boat and still have a decent amount of room to lay my molds out. Hopefully be closing mid-May. I have 23 workdays remaining before retirement.

The sellers accepted out offer yesterday, so it should be good to go and we should be back east and settled in by June. Now that I'll be closer I can consider going to the GS Nationals and the BPG race (if they still have one) What are the dates for either if anyone knows off the top of their head?

Yes I’m still making them. There is a more current thread, just search GS Cowl Induction and you should find an update.

Hey Brian Trick, it is complete, the snow finally melted enough so I could g my GS down to the shop to do a test fit. Of course like any fiberglass hood it will need a little sanding on the edges to smooth it out. I did a rough alignment on it and saw that there shouldn't be any issues getting it to look nice.
