Hello everyone, I've been reading this Forum for some time now.
Thought it time now to put in my 2 cents worth of knowledge.
I'm very interested in the Technical aspects of Buicks from 65 till 75. (roughly). There is a healthy interest in Buick here in Holland.
    I own a 67 Riviera with a tuned 455 (10:1 Hyper-Eutectic Pistons, 113 cam, strong valve-springs,....) and a rebuild original ST400
Switch-Pitch transmission. It has an open 3.07 rearend and all
drums around. It will cruise all day at a 100 mph and easily take you to 130 mph, though things get a little scary then. Imagine
over 2000 Kilo's at 130 mph with all drums, it takes some time stopping this Behemoth.
Furthermore I get a lot of satisfaction cruising along at an easy
    60 mph.
I have friends in Rosemount, MN, whom I now and then visit.
Likewise they come over to Holland.

With that motor, maybe a disc brake conversion is in your future.

    Welcome!

    Disk Brakes

    Marco, thaks for your reply.
Disk brakes setup is hard to find for a 66-69 Riviera . I have read
about one USA company that custom maufactures them for you.
You have to sent your spindles to them. This does not work from
Europe, as it would be enormously costly.
Better to lift of the gas-pedal a little earlier and not treat the Riv
    as a race car.
If only there would be a manufacturer that would step in and make a ready to fit Disk-Brake setup at a reasonable price......

and for Jim (flynbuick): Dank je, met mij gaat het goed. Ik hoop
hier veel te leren over Buicks.
Leuk om een antwoord in het Nederlands te krijgen.

If there is ever anything I can do from here, let me know.
    John

    Thanks Melinda.
I've never been to Ireland, but several times to the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea. Visiting the TT Races in June.
Terrible things goin' on in Ireland, with the Catholics and Protestants. Wish they would all wisen up and learn to have fun in that little time wer'e allowed here on this Planet Earth.
They spend time fighting, wich is much better spent driving Buicks.

Don't know if the Irish in the USA are into the "Old Country". I can imagine a certain interest in the country your anchestors came from.

    Nice hearing from you,

    John. :TU:

I see you are a chemist. My mother in law( KAULINGFREKS) was a chemist in Holland also. We have not been back in a couple of years but had an uncle , a retired admiral, from Holland visit us last year. Great fun.
